A boiler is always designed to absorb maximum amount of heat released in process of combustion. This is transferred to the boiler by all the three modes of heat transfer i.e. conduction, convection and radiation. Steam Turbine used is mainly of three types-: FIRST STAGE\HIGH PRESSURE TURBINE SECOND STAGE\INTERMEDIATE TURBINE THIRD STAGE\LOW PRESSURE TURBINE PROCESS OF STEAM GENERATION TURBO GENERATOR SPECIFICATIONS Manufactured by-:BHEL Rated Speed -:3000 Power Output -:110 MW Power factor -:0.8 Rated voltage -:1000V Rated current -:7200A Cooling Element -:6 RPM DEaRATOR Dearator is a device which is widely used for the removal of air and other gases from the feed water to steam generating boilers. in particular dissolved oxygen in Boiler feed waters will cause serious corrosion damage in steam system by attaching to the walls of metal piping and other metallic equipment and forming oxides. EXHAUSTED GASES FLY ASH & FLUE GASES (80%) ESP DRY & WET ASH(20%) CHIMNEY FURNACE HOPPERS TRANSPORTED TO CEMENT FACTORIES ETC. BLOCK DIAGRAM OF ASH HANLING PLANT Electro Static Precipitator To remove fly ash from flue gases electro static precipitator is used. They have collection efficiency of over 99.5%. The efficiency depends on various Factors such as velocity of flow, quantity of gas, resistivity of ash, voltage of fields, precipitators etc. Electrostatic precipitator consists of following parts:Casing Supply system Emitting electrodes Collecting electrodes Wrapping system Collecting basket Principle: Electrodes at high voltage create a corona effect (ionized atmosphere) surrounding them. This charges the passing particles. Once charged, particles are subject to a transverse electrostatic force that pulls them toward the collecting plates.
