Angle Notes:
Parallel lines- travel in same
direction and will never touch.
Transversal – a straight line that
crosses at least 2 other lines
Supplementary angles- add up to
180o, if they are adjacent (sharing a
side)- they form a straight line.
Corresponding Angles- When two
lines are crossed by another line, the
angles in matching corners are called
corresponding angles. When the two
lines are parallel Corresponding Angles
are equal.
When two lines are crossed by
another line (called the Transversal):
The pairs of angles on opposite
sides of the transversal but inside the
two lines are called Alternate
Interior Angles. Alternate exterior
angles
When two lines are crossed by
another line, the pairs of angles on
opposite sides of the transversal but
outside the two lines are called
Alternate Exterior Angles.
Same side interior angles are two
angles that are on the same side of
the transversal and on the interior of
the two lines. Same Side Interior
Angles Theorem: If two parallel lines
are cut by a transversal, then the
same side interior angles are
supplementary.
Vertical Angles are the angles
opposite each other when two lines
cross. They are always equal.
"Vertical" in this case means they
share the same Vertex (corner point),
