Physical characteristics
• Soil is poor and acidic due to the fallen
pine needles from the trees
• The winters in the taiga are very cold with
only snowfall. The summers are warm,
rainy, and humid.
• In the summer temperature ranges from
20ºF-70ºF In the winter, -65ºF-30ºF
• The total precipitation in a year is 30 - 85
cm most of it is rain in the during the
summer.

forest. Most of the
trees grow needles
and cones instead
of leaves and
flowers.
