Triangles
A triangle is a three sided figure which includes three angles totaling 1800.
Triangles are classified by length and by angle.
Types of Triangles by Length

Equilateral Triangle
Equiangular Triangle
All three sides are the
same length.
All the angles are equal —
each one measures 60
degrees.
An equilateral triangle is
also equiangular
An equiangular triangle is also
equilateral.
Isosceles Triangle
Right Triangle
Two sides are the same
length.
One of the angles is a right
angle — an angle of 90
degrees.
An isosceles triangle
may be right, obtuse, or
acute.
A right triangle may be
isosceles or scalene.
Scalene Triangle
Obtuse Triangle
None of the sides are
the same length.
One angle is greater than a
right angle— it is more than 90
degrees.
A scalene triangle may
be right, obtuse, or
acute.
An obtuse triangle may be
isosceles or scalene.
