JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Digital Sales Consultant Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: 30k O.T.E (Salary plus commission) Job Purpose Required to initiate and develop creative marketing solutions for new and existing clients. Working to ambitious targets, you will establish effective relationships with digital and marketing agencies and will maximise sales through simplifying digital media, design and marketing solutions for business clients. In essence the purpose of this role is to understand business clients advertising needs and to develop and deliver an effective marketing solution to meet those needs. Main Job Responsibilities Business Targets Sell advertising and marketing solutions to new and existing business clients Plan and prioritise sales activities to achieve targets and meet deadlines Actively and creatively source potential advertising opportunities and engage new clients / new business Build and maintain strong working relationships with key decision makers in local business Competently present to and negotiate with decision makers Meet and exceed set sales targets Cross-sell into sister publications and digital platforms Client Relationships Ensure a creative and fresh approach to sales whilst providing effective marketing solutions to business clients needs Build effective customer relationships, exceed customer expectations and ensure follow through with customer satisfaction on product / service Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the market place including Company and competitor titles in order to devise revenue generating ideas Generate new leads and convert inactive accounts into regular advertisers Product Knowledge Ensure knowledge of all Company products / services Maintain accurate client information and ad booking records on system Handle any customer issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring a high standard of customer care and customer service at all times Adhere strictly to North – West News Group’s credit policy Marketing To be fully conversant with Company business and to take every opportunity to promote the business. Promote Company products and services and seek to raise Company profile with businesses and in the community at all times Attend relevant sales and marketing events / activities / meetings Communication and Teamwork Liaise with editorial and production teams as appropriate in an efficient and timely manner and seek to ensure department managers actively support Company sales and marketing strategy Personal Development Keep personal skills and knowledge up to date e.g. booking in system, accounts processes, product knowledge, competitor activity Keep an up to date knowledge of trends in the industry and technological developments Maintain high level of standards, dress code, personal hygiene, appearance and conduct. Present a supportive, positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the job, the company and colleagues Attend all meetings and training required by Departmental Manager or Human Resources. Continuously seek to improve department’s operation and standards Health and Safety To be aware of and adhere to all Health, Fire and Safety Procedures and to remain vigilant to possible risks and ensure anything of a suspicious nature is reported to management Key Performance Results Realise new businss and achieve set targets Deliver to client requirements Ensure advertising / marketing copy meets deadline and is produced to standard Establish effective working relationships with production / editorial departments Adhere to Company policy Maintain systems and accurate customer account records Proactivlely support Company goals and objectives Person Specification: Required Performance and Behavioural Standards DIGITAL SALES CONSULTANT CRITERIA Relevant Knowledge and Experience Skills and Competencies Behavioural Standards Other ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE Proven sales experience Confident with new technologies Ability to sell print / digital advertising and marketing solutions Experience of developing effective customer relationships to secure new business Evidence of ability to work accurately within a deadline driven environment Self motivated Able to effectively plan and prioritise work to achieve targets and develop new business Outgoing, enthusiastic, confident Excellent written, verbal, phone and presentation skills Effective negotiator Business acumen Strong IT skills Knowledge of local business area Team Orientated Able to work calmly under pressure Customer orientated Previous advertising sales and marketing experience Minimum 2 A Levels or equivalent in an advertising / marketing / business discipline Understanding of advertising standards and advertising law.
