XML stands for Extensible Markup Language
XML is a markup language much like HTML
XML was designed to carry data, not to display data
XML tags are not predefined. You must define your own
tags
• XML is designed to be self-descriptive
• XML is a W3C Recommendation
Raw data is not hardcoded in to the cBiz application rather it
is stored in XML files. Therefore modifying XML is
customizing cBiz.

What is Load-on-Demand

• If you are accessing the cBizOne database (SQL Server)
remotely, you can check the Hosted/Remote Database box
for load-on-demand for optimal remote speed and
performance.
• It will not load all the records in the database; rather it will
load only the first n number of records.
What is data
synchronization?
• Data synchronization is the process of establishing
consistency among data on remote sources and the
continuous harmonization of the data over time.
• SQL Replication.
What Is a Port Number?
• In computer networking, a port number is part of the
addressing information used to identify the senders and
receivers of messages.
• Port numbers are associated with network addresses.
Example:
Port numbers work like telephone extensions. Just as a
business telephone switchboard can use a main phone
number and assign each employee an extension number
(like x100, x101, etc.), so a computer has a main address
and a set of port numbers to handle incoming and outgoing
connections.
