CELL MEMBRANE IS LIKE WALLS
The cell membrane is a selectively permeable
membrane that protects the cell, like the walls
of a train station that protect it and let things
in and out.
CYTOPLASM IS LIKE AIR
The cytoplasm surrounds all the organelles
within the cell membrane and the air
surrounds all the parts within the walls of the
train station.
NUCLEUS IS LIKE THE
INFORMATION DESK
The nucleus contains all the information for
the entire cell, and so does the information
desk at a train station.
NUCLEOLUS IS LIKE TICKET OFFICE
The nucleolus makes ribosomes that make
proteins and the ticket office makes tickets
that are sold to people.
RIBOSOMES ARE LIKE TICKET BOOTHS
Ribosomes send out the proteins and the
ticket booths sell the train tickets.
ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM IS LIKE
LUGGAGE CARTS
The endoplasmic reticulum moves things
around within the cell, and the luggage carts
move things around in the train station.
MITOCHONDIRA IS LIKE THE GENERATOR
The mitochondria creates energy from the
food for the cell and the generator creates
electricity for the building.
GOLGI BODIES LIKE THE TRAINS
The Golgi bodies ships things in and out of the
cell. The trains ship things and people in and
out of the train station.
VACUOLES LIKE STORAGE LOCKERS
Vacuoles hold waste, food or water in the cell.
Storage lockers hold anything people want to
store in them.
