Convention is once every 3 years…..
…but new friendships last a lifetime
Brown bagging it SAI style.
Convention on a budget.
Share Your Room!
At $119 each night, four people can occupy one room for about $35 a night with
tax! If you live close enough…..maybe you can commute to Lincolnshire every
day!
• Keeping meals at the minimum
– Pack some cereal bars, light snacks or even juice boxes.
• The More the Merrier…
– Car pool, share cab rides, doing things as a group is always less expensive.
• Take advantage of the Saturday night options like:
– Navy Pier. $18 to get there and back and dinner at the economical food court,
free fireworks and fun.
– Ravinia – Tickets are being offered at a $5 discount!
• Register for the Whole Convention, not just one day
– It may seem like a good idea to pay the daily fee, but then you have to pay
for extras like the luncheon or the dinner of honors….it a MUCH better deal to
register for the entire convention.
Pumps or Flats?
The Art of Packing Wisely
Flats - The dress code is business attire, however, you will be on your feet,
walking to many events throughout the hotel.
At least one formal dress or gown.
The Dinner Of Honors is very formal, however you may want some
concert attire as well.
All you need is one or two casual outfits. If you choose to go out on
the town you’ll want to be wearing your favorite SAI sweatshirt or t-shrit!
Your Cutest PJ’s for the movie!
Your Camera!
DON’T FORGET YOUR PIN!!!!
There are fleas where?
& Other Things To Know
One Book…One Sisterhood
This is going to be a nice “extra” during convention.
Order the book on the Affinity Link on the national
website. Read the book prior to convention so you can
enjoy the benefits!
• Phlea Phlam and other shopping
The first time I heard “Phlea Phlam” I had no idea what
people were talking about! Bring plenty of cash for those
fun little extras. There will also be plenty of SAI wardrobe
attire and jewelry as well.
Other things to know about….
Bring your song books for Sunday night’s fraternity
sing!
Bring your own music for open mic night or start
working on a group number
You’re probably going to want to take notes at the
workshops…bring some “school supplies”
Getting a lay of the land.
So many options, so little time!
Check the schedule and go to those things
that most interest you
