The play 'Sherlock Holmes' debuts on Sept 2 at the Shakespeare Theatre at Liverpool, and on
Sept 9 at the Lyceum Theatre, London, with Gillette in the titular role. The unnamed page boy

from 'A Case of Identity' is named Billy (staring Charlie Chaplin in London), a name Doyle then
added in later canon stories. The phrase 'Elementary, my dear fellow' is first coined by Gillette,
1901 (Sept) who plays the role in deerstalker, inverness, calabash pipe and dressing gown
