Stars change
• It may take millions to
billions of years for a
star to change .Some
stars change into
different things such
as black holes,
supernovas and
different size stars.
What are stars made of ?
• Stars are big balls of
gas which gives off
heat and light . In a
galaxy there are
hundreds and
thousands of stars.
• If I add all the
galaxies stars up it
would
=160,ooo,ooo,ooo,oo
oooo,ooo,
Are stars gas or burning rocks?
• Stars are made up of different types of gas
and dust. One of the gases is Hydrogen
and most of the star is Hydrogen.
Why do stars shine ?
• Stars shine because of the heat they
make. The heat of a star reaches about
16million degrees Celsius. A grain of sand
that hot could kill someone 150km away.
Do stars burn ?
• Stars do not burn but a galaxy contains
clouds of dust and gas, as well as stars. It
is in the clouds of dust stars are born. As
more and more of the gas is pulled
together by gravity into a cloud, the cloud
starts to spin. The gas atoms start to bump
into each other faster and faster. This
creates heat energy, and then the cloud
gets hotter and hotter.
