Charting Plus System Specifications
*While Windows 98, ME and XP Home are viable options for Charting Plus™ they are not
recommended because of HIPAA and security reasons. These operating systems are less secure than
NT, 2000 and XP Professional.

Wireless Networking
We have found that in some instances 802.11b (11 MBs) wireless to be unsatisfactory in transmitting
Charting Plus data at the speeds required by a busy office. MediNotes recommends the use of
802.11a or g (54+ MBs) to increase the data transfer bandwidth, or the use of terminal services or
Citrix with slower wireless systems.
Supported Backup Types
In the event that you must submit your database to support for inspection, please note that MediNotes
technical support can accept CD and DVD based backups. Due to the number and variety of tape
backup devices, MediNotes can not accept information on tape.
Networks / Server
MediNotes Corporation recommends that a trained networking consultant inspect and upgrade your
network, if necessary, to the proper specifications for use. It would be wise to have this individual call
the MediNotes technical support department prior to upgrade or installation so they may be briefed on
how Charting Plus™ is utilized on a network.
