Generic Pharmaceutical Company Implements SupplyScape E-Pedigree™ to Ensure
Regulatory Compliance and Drive Operating Efficiencies
Woburn, Mass., September 04, 2007 - SupplyScape Corporation, the leading provider

chain, today announced that Blu Pharmaceuticals has implemented SupplyScape’s EPedigree data management solution to comply with pedigree regulatory requirements and
help drive operational efficiencies in their supply chain operations.
Blu Pharmaceuticals is a generic pharmaceutical company located in Franklin, Kentucky
that manufactures and markets high quality generic pharmaceuticals, distributed through
major wholesalers. Blu has experienced rapid growth, driven in part by a Federal Supply
Schedule (FSS) contract that permits government agencies such as the Veterans
Administration, Bureau of Prisons, and Indian Health Services to purchase its
prescription drug products.
Blu’s initial use of paper pedigrees to track the chain of custody of prescription
medications encountered a number of shortcomings. These included: the potential for
falsification of paper pedigrees; the inability to meet trading partners’ electronic
information exchange requirements; and the need to stay abreast of new state and federal
pedigree compliance regulatory requirements, particularly the state of California’s
electronic pedigree requirements.
After assessing more secure and efficient options, Blu decided to move forward with
electronic pedigrees and selected SupplyScape’s E-Pedigree data management software, a
