Important: Before treating your face, it’s important to carry out a patch test on your forearm as your skin could be sensitive to light due to other medications or medical
conditions. It is normal to feel warmth from the blue light. However, if you feel pain or your skin gets uncomfortably hot during treatment, then Q-Acne is not suitable for you.
Following the patch test application, wait 24 hours. If you notice any difference between the treated and untreated skin, such as redness, discoloration or discomfort, you
should seek advice from a medical professional, do not continue treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
CHARGING
© The Dezac Group 2015
What causes Acne?
IMPORTANT: C
harge the unit for 4 hours before using for the
first time.
Acne is a condition of the sebaceous hair follicle. The hair follicles, or
pores, in your skin contain sebaceous glands. These glands make
sebum; an oil that lubricates hair and skin. Normally, sebum travels
through the hair follicle to the skin surface. With acne, sebum is
trapped, clogging the follicle. Bacteria that causes acne are called
Propionibacterium acnes (P.acnes) and are present on everybody’s
skin. When the sebaceous gland gets clogged, it becomes a breeding
ground for P.acnes, which multiply rapidly and result in acne.
1
STEP 1
To charge, connect the power adapter into the
charging dock and plug into the mains.
© The Dezac Group 2015
How often should I use Q-Acne?
2
Treat all areas for 3 minutes every other day. Clinical studies have
demonstrated the effectiveness of treatments every other day.
When will I see results?
You should see a positive change in your skin condition within 3
weeks. Treatment every other day is recommended for a minimum of
8 weeks. After this, use in line with any continued occurrence or new
outbreaks.
STEP 2
Place the unit in the charging dock. While
charging, the lights around the ON/OFF button
will illuminate in rotation. When fully charged,
all lights will go out and the unit will be ready
to use.
LOW BATTERY INDICATION
© The Dezac Group 2015
When the battery level is low all four lights will
flash to indicate recharging is required. The unit
will turn off when the battery is flat.
Is there a risk of sunburn or skin cancer?
No. The peak wavelengths of light used by the blue light unit are
outside those that could cause damage to the skin.
Can I use my usual anti-spot cream/lotion?
Q-Acne should be applied to clean, dry skin. Between treatments you
can use your usual anti-spot cream/lotion.
