C Music Classical: Anna Netrebko ‘Song to the Moon (Rusalka)’
Russian soprano Anna Netrebko is the darling of the opera world. Her international
appearances in operas, concerts and recitals have won her the respect and admiration of
opera’s most devoted fans. Her debut album Opera Arias was named best selling classical
album of the year.
C Music Classical: Duetto ‘Oltra La Tempesta’
Tenors Marcelo Alvarez and Salvatore Licitra collaborate on a sensational best-selling album
of timeless ballads. Considered to be the finest among a new generation of tenors, Alvarez
has reprised his critically acclaimed role in Rigoletto in Tokyo, New York and London, while
Licitra has won international recognition as an aspiring talent.
C Music Cinema: The Virgin Suicides ‘Playground Love’
The Virgin Suicides is an American film written and directed by Sofia Coppola, starring James
Wood, Kathleen Turner, Kirsten Dunst and Josh Harnett. Based on the novel by Jeffrey
Eugenides, the film chronicles the death of five sisters in Detroit in the 1970s. The film’s
score features two tracks by French electronic band Air, including ‘Playground Love’.

C Music Cinema: The Young Americans ‘Play Dead’
Young Americans is the feature film debut of British director Danny Cannon. A gritty and
compelling look at gang culture in London in the early 90s, the film features solid
performances from Harvey Keitel, Viggio Mortensen and Thandie Newton. Grammy Award
winning composer David Arnold wrote the score, which features ‘Play Dead’ by Bjork.
C Music Chillout: Bobby McFerrin ‘Circlesong 6’
Bobby McFerrin is an American a cappella vocal performer and conductor who achieved
international recognition with the No.1 hit ‘Don't Worry, Be Happy". The son of well-known
baritone Robert McFerrin, Bobby has collaborated with Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and
cellist Yo Yo Ma and released numerous solo albums of his own compositions.
C Music Chillout: The Herbaliser ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’
Formed in the early 90s, Herbaliser are a jazz, hip/hop group founded by DJ Ollie Teeba and
musician Jake Wherry. Both British born Teeba and Wherry have worked together for more
than a decade. They have released a string of hugely successful albums under the Ninja
Tune label, including the critically acclaimed album Something Wicked This Way Comes.
C Music Close Up: ‘Maxim Vengerov on Vengerov and Virtuosi’
Maxim Vengerov is a Russian Grammy Award winning virtuoso. He is one of the most sought
after performers in classical music and among the most exciting musicians of his generation.
Interviewed on the set of his video for Bazzini’s ‘La Ronde des lutins’ Maxim talks of his
childhood, his passion for classical music and recording ‘Vengerov and Virtuosi’, a collection
of popular encore pieces by Dvorak, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Schubert.
