Biography :
Mikael Bentz is a film composer and arranger.
Born in France, it was violin lessons at age 6 that sparked his interest in classical music but by 16,
he had got an electric guitar and started producing rock music.
Mikael earned a degree in Music at the University of Pau, France, specializing in electroacoustic
music and music writing. In parallel, he was a founding member of Mygük , the band with which he
performed at numerous concerts throughout France, sharing the stage with artists such as Yann
Tiersen, Serge Teyssot-Gay, Richard Hawley, Elliot Murphy, Pascal Comelade, Françoiz Breut,
Laetitia Velma feat. Dominique A...and with which he recorded 5 albums unanimously applauded by
the press.
Mikael's interest in scoring films began with live performances of music he composed for silent
movies : Nosferatu the Vampire and The Last laugh by FW. Murnau and more recently Las Hurdes
by Luis Bunuel.
After ten years stage experience, Mikael has turned to scoring for documentaries, and films, some
of which have earned awards, honing his skills by learning to work with an orchestra in Paris with
Arnaud de Buchy, Gérard Torikian and Alain Bédier.
