ELVIN HOXHA GANIYEV (1997), Azerbaijan/Turkey
Elvin Hoxha was born into a musician
family in 1997 in Ankara. His
grandfather, the late Professor Server
Ganiyev, former Chair of the Strings
Option in the Faculty of Music and
Performing Arts, Bilkent University and
Konzertmeister of the Bilkent Symphony
Orchestra was a prominent Azerbaijani
violinist, holding the title of Peoples
Artist in his homeland. His mother is a pianist and his father is the principal
violoncello of the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra.
LIFE AND
TRAINING
Elvin entered the Bilkent University Music Preparatory Primary School with
highest marks to study violin, when he was six. Elvin studied with leading
conductors including Server Ganiyev, Rengim Gökmen, Vladimir Spivakov and
Klaus Weise. Having started to study violin wih Professor Server Ganiev and
Rasim Bağırov, Elvin is currently the student of Elena Postnova at Bilkent
University Music Preparatory Primary School. He also follows Prof Zakhar
Bron’s class as “Young Student” at the Conservatory of Zurich.
In 2013 he has been admitted into Prof. Bron’s Meisterklasse Interlaken.
He is the winner of several prizes and awards:

Elvin performed at various international festivals in Đstanbul and Mersin (Turkey),
Spivakov (Russia), Baku and Rostropovich (Azerbaijan), Oettingen (Germany),
Davos, Zurich and Interlaken (Switzerland), Chestashova (Poland), "Voices of
Peace" (France), Chalkidiki and Thessalonica (Greece); he also performed in
concerts and recitals in the UK, Belgium, Czech Republic, Norway, Belarus,
Kazakhstan and Egypt.

Elvin is scholar of the “Young Musicians on World Stages” project by Güher and
Süher Pekinel, the two pianist-sisters.
