1969. godine i natjecanja "Čajkovski" u Moskvi 1970.
glazbenik, često surañuje s M. Argerich, O. Maisenbergom, V. Saharovim, i dr.
Godine 1981. utemeljio je festival KREMERata MUŠICA u austrijskom mjestu
Lockenhausu a 1996. osnovao je ansambl KREMERata BALTICA u Vilniusu. U
medu kojima ugledni litvanski dirigent Saulius Sondeckis i skladatelj Alfred Schnittke
čija djela ansambl često izvodi.
Violinistica Lasma Muceniece roñena je 1973. u mjestu Gulbene (Latvija). Studirala
komornu glazbu u Rigi i Jurmali. S kvartetom "Sansara" gostovala je diljem Europe,
od 1997. godine stalno djeluje u komornom orkestru KREMERata BALTICA.
H. Beyerle, V. Hagen i Y. Bashmeta. Na natjecanjima u domovini osvajala je prve
nagrade.
Lockenhausu, Salzburgu, Dubrovniku i , Gstaadu.
Violončelistica Marta Sudraba roñena je 1975. u Rigi. Školovala se na litvanskoj
Muzičkoj akademiji i usavršavala u Londonu.
Salzburgu.
Peteris Vasks (1946.) roñenje u Aizpute (Letonija). Studirao je kontrabas i
kompoziciju na Muzičkim akademijama u Rigi i Vilniusu. Od 1963. do 1974. član je
raznih simfonijskih i komornih orkestara. U vrijeme studija počinje skladati djela u
kojima koristi iskustva baštine, arhaičnu pučku melodiku ali i suvremeni način
komponiranja. Mnoga njegova djela imaju programske naslove kojima umjetnik želi
objasniti tematiku koja ga privlači: mnogostruka povezanost čovjeka i prirode, ljepota
života, ekološki i etički problemi našega doba i dr. Dobitnik je mnogih priznanja u
domovini i u inozemstvu. Od 1994. počasni je suradnik Akademije znanosti Letonije.
Živi i djeluje u Rigi kao slobodni umjetnik.
muzikologiju na Filozofskom fakultetu Karlovog univerziteta u Pragu i kompoziciju
kod Aloisa Habe. U prosincu 1941. interniran je u koncentracijski logor u Terezinu
gdje organizira kulturni život i sklada.
Prvi
stavak završen je 5. rujna 1944., drugi 21. rujna, a treći 7. listopada iste godine, devet
dana prije nego je Klein deportiran u Auschwitz. Partituru je iz logora iznijela Irma
Semecka i nakon rata predala autorovoj sestri.
Utemeljitelj češke simfonijske, komorne i orkestralne glazbe Antonin Dvořak
(1841.-1904.) jedan je od najvećih skladatelja romantike. Uz Smetanu najvažniji je
češki skladatelj, iznimno darovit melodičar, vrstan instrumentator i u svoje doba
priznat dirigent.
Osim devet simfonija i
koncerata za solistička glazbala vrijedna djela ostavlja komornom području, meñu
ostalim 14 gudačka kvarteta, 4 glasovirska trija, 2 glasovirska kvinteta i dr.
Njemački skladatelj, dirigent, violinist i teoretičar Paul Hindemith ( 1898.- 1963.),
Bostonu i New Yorku. U vrijeme neposredno pred II. svjetski rat boravi u Ankari gdje
Gidon Kremer is one of the most prominent violinists in the world today. He was
David Oistrakh's student at the Moscow Conservatory, and the winner of the Paganini
Competition in Genoa in 1969 and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1970.
In his career, which has taken him all over the world, he has performed and recorded
with the most reputable orchestras and conductors such as H. von Karajan, R. Muti,
L. Bernstein, N. Harnoncourt, C. Eschenbach and others. His repertoire is huge and
embraces the composers from the Baroque period to the contemporary ones. He is
particularly keen on promoting the composers from the Baltic countries. In addition to
his solo career, he is also an outstanding chamber musician, collaborating with
M. Argerich, O. Maisenberg, V. Sakharov and others. In 1981 he established the
KREMERata MUSICA Festival in the small Austrian town of Lockenhaus, and in
1996 he established the KREMERata BALTICA Ensemble in Vilnius.
The violinist Lasma Muceniece was born in Gulbene, Latvia, in 1973. She studied at
the Latvian Music Academy and received prizes and awards at the international
competitions in Riga and Jurmala. She toured the world with
the Sansara Quartet, and since 1997 she has been a regular member of the chamber
orchestra KREMERata BALTICA.
The violist Ula Zebriunaite was born in Vilnius in 1974, where she also studied at
the Lithuanian Music Academy. She attended master courses by M. Rostropovich,
H. Bayerle, V. Hagen and Y. Bashmet. She was awarded first prizes in competitions in
her native country. She participated in the concerts of the KREMERata BALTICA at
the festivals in Lockenhaus, Salzburg, Dubrovnik and Gstaad.
The violoncellist Marta Sudraba was born in Riga in 1975. She studied at the
Lithuanian Music Academy and continued her studies in London. She has performed
in Riga, Minsk and Luxemburg, in 1997 played in the Gustav Mahler Youth
Orchestra, and currently, with the ensemble KREMERata BALTICA at the festivals in
Lockerhaus and Salzburg.
Peteris Vasks (1946) was born in Aizpute (Latvia). He studied the double bass and
composition at the Music Academies in Riga and Vilnius. From 1963 to 1947 he was a
member of various symphonic and chamber orchestras. In the course of his studies he
began to compose the works in which he made use of the experience of his heritage,
the archaic folk melodies, but also the contemporary style of composing. Many of his
works have programmatic titles by which the artist wished to explain the subject
matter he was attracted by: manifold connections between man and nature, the beauty
of life, ecological and ethical problems of our time, etc. He has won many awards in
his country and abroad. Since 1994 he has been nominated honorary member of the
Latvian Academy of Science. He lives and works in Riga as a freelance artist.
Gideon Klein (1919 - 1945) was born in Pierov na Morave. He studied the piano and
musicology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Charles's University in Prague and
composition with Alois Haba. In December of the year 1941 he was interned in the
concentration camp in Terezin, where he helped in organizing the cultural life and
composed
music. In 1944 he was deported to Furstengrabe via Auschwitz, and there he died
tragically in 1945.
The String Trio is G. Klein's last composition. The composer wrote the work in
Terezin. The first movement was finished on September 5, 1944, the second on
September 21 that same year, and the third on October 7, 1944, nine days before he
was transported to Auschwitz. The score was saved from the concentration camp by
his friend Irma Semecka, who handed it over to the author's sister after the war.
The founder of the Czech symphonic, chamber and orchestral music, Antonin
Dvořák (1841 - 1904), was one of the greatest composers of the Romanticism.
Together with B. Smetana, he was the most important Czech composer, exceptionally
talented in terms of melodiousness, excellent in instrumental arrangements and a
prominent conductor. Different from the epic character of Smetana's works, Dvořák’s
music is markedly lyrical, and many compare him to Schubert, owing to his melodious
inventiveness. Except for his nine symphonies and concertos for solo instruments, he
wrote valuable works for chamber ensembles, including 14 string quartets, 4 piano
trios, and 2 piano quintets.
The German composer, conductor, violinist and theoretician, Paul Hindemith (1898 1963), was the author of an extensive opus of orchestral, piano, chamber, operatic and
film music. He was a distinguished organizer and promoter of contemporary music
and an eminent pedagogue in Berlin, Boston and New York. At the time immediately
before World War II, he stayed for a time in Ankara where he actively participated in
the establishment of music life.
The String Quartet Minimax is a parody of a kind, written in the military music style.
The work was written in 1923 for the String quartet Amar-Hindemith that the composer
founded and in which he played the viola. The piece was performed at the
Contemporary Music Festival in Donaueschingen.
