National Taiwan University of Science & Technology (NTUST) Computer Center Academic Network Usage Regulations Approved at the 57th meeting of the computer committee Dec. 26, 1996 Amended a the 74th meeting of the computer committee Dec. 4, 2003 Amended a the 75th meeting of the computer committee on Apr. 28, 2005 1. The purpose of establishing the academic network is to support teaching and research within school, as well as share the resources and provides the opportunity to cooperate. 2. All users are required to follow the regulations below: A. Using network resources to transmit minacious, obscene, unfriendly and commercial data is forbidden. B. Interfere or damage other users or nodes ‘s hardware/software on the network is forbidden. C. D. E. Distributing computer virus, unauthorized attempting to hack into computer system, or other similar cases are all included. Users are required to submit the MAC address and follow the procedures to apply for an IP address. Using unauthorized IP address is forbidden. Any resource that can be accessed is belonged to its owner or department. Users are not allowed to use such resource unless authorization is given or opened to the public. Using P2P file-sharing software to transfer copyright violated data is forbidden. 3. Students, who found using others IP address in the academic network, the first offender would be ceased from using all the facilities in the CC and referred to their advising professors or their supervisors. Recidivists will be punished in accordance with relevant regulations by the Office of Student Affairs. 4. Anyone who violates the above regulations or any relevant Taiwan government Law will be punished by school in accordance with relevant school regulations as well as face the criminal sanction. 5. Please refer to the “Academic Network Usage Regulations” for any unspecified matters.
