On TERCETO KALI , master flamenco guitarist Jason
McGuire “El Rubio” creates a completely new type of
music that joins a standard jazz trio configuration
playing jazz harmonies and improvisation with the
rich textures of flamenco.
Although well-known and admired by flamenco
aficianados in the U.S. and especially in Spain, where
he is considered by many musicians to be a
phenomenal soloist who has introduced a range of
new ideas to the flamenco lexicon, TERCETO KALI is
McGuire’s second CD as a leader.
An exceptional composer as well as a musician,
McGuire wrote all the tunes on this CD using
traditional flamenco forms, infusing them with a
variety of styles including jazz, blues, rock, and other
types of Latin music.
