This newsletter was created to help you become familiar with our practice, Dr. Ettrich and staff members. We opened on March 26th and are happy to be treating patients! Dr. Ettrich graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1995. Following graduation, he entered the US Air Force and completed a one-year AEGD program. After practicing for more than seven years as a general dentist, he attended the University of Washington earning his endodontic certificate and master’s degree in 2004. Over the past two years, he has served as the Chief of Endodontics at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. In addition to treating patients, he taught Endodontics to fourteen general dentistry residents and lectured on numerous occasions to other Air Force bases and local dental societies. He is married to Milissa and has 2 children, Zach-7 and Ellie-4. We combine today’s modern technology with established principles to help make Root Canal Treatments as comfortable as possible. Items that we utilize in our office to create a pleasant experience for patients and referring dentists are as follows: * Digital imaging * XM Radio headsets * Flat screen monitors * Plush, leather chairs and headrests * Microscope * Electronic Medical Records Endodontic Fun Facts…Did you know? * Root canal treatment saves 17 million natural teeth each year. * 400 students are enrolled in 50 post doctoral endodontic programs in the U.S. * The rubber dam was invented in 1864 by Dr. Sanford Barnum of New York. Sandy and Stacy are Dr. Ettrich’s two staff members. Sandy is a certified Ohio dental assistant who graduated from the Ohio Institute of Health Careers in 2006. She grew up in St. Mary’s, Ohio and has lived in the Columbus area for 5 years. Outside of work Sandy enjoys spending time with her husband, Craig and schnoodle, Harvey. She is also an avid movie watcher! Stacy is Dr. Ettrich’s office manager and is responsible for day to day business operations of the practice. She graduated in 1996 from Georgia Tech. Moving from Atlanta, Georgia just last summer, Stacy has almost 10 years of experience in the dental field as an office manager and territory manager for Endodontic and Orthodontic product manufacturers. She stays busy with her 3 year old son, Jack and husband, Matt. Stacy enjoys interior design and cooking in her spare time. Insurance & Financial Policy Our office utilizes electronic claim filing, and we are happy to file a claim with any insurance company. Currently, we are signed up with Delta Dental Premier. Most other insurance companies cover out-of-network Endodontics at 80%. We can verify patient benefits before the patient is seen or at the time of the patient’s appointment. Typically, we require payment of the patient’s portion of the treatment fee at the time of service. For patients with no insurance coverage we can offer a payment plan. For your patient’s convenience, we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Personal Checks and Cash. Root Tips Have you seen the latest IE Guidelines from the AHA/ADA? Artificial heart valves 2. A history of infective endocarditis 3. Certain specific, serious congenital (present from birth) heart conditions, including: ◦ Unrepaired or incompletely repaired cyanotic congenital heart disease, including those with palliative shunts and conduits ◦ A completely repaired congenital heart defect with prosthetic material or device, whether placed by surgery or by catheter intervention , during the first six months after the procedure ◦ Any repaired congenital heart defect with residual defect at the site or adjacent to the site of a prosthetic patch or a prosthetic device 4.
