Shin Splints (Lateral Type) Taping (with Dr. Lew, DC Lower Extremity Lab)
Remember Shin Splints are a periostitis of the tibia by
· the Anterior Tibialis (Ant, Lat Shin Splints) or
· the Posterior Tibialis (Post, Med Shin Splints)
Ant and Lateral Shin Splints (see picture above)
Dry skin and Spray Tough Skin
Anchor 1 along Fibula starting from Fibular head
Anchor 2 along Tibia (medial shin area)
Pull muscle from lateral to medial closer to the bone
Diagonal strips starting from superior to inferior in a lateral to medial direction
Ant and Lateral Shin Splints (picture not available)
Dry skin and Spray Tough Skin
Anchor 1 along Tibia (medial shin area)
Anchor 2 along medial leg along muscle belly
Pull muscle from medial to lateral closer to the bone
Diagonal strips starting from inferior to superior in a medial to lateral direction
