ANNEX
When the contract provides for the installation of an additional conduit for
the extraction of underground gases :





The present annex is an integral part of the preliminary contract between the
designated parties.
The contractor confirms that the required conduits, for the depressurization
and evacuation of underground gases, including radon, have been installed
under the basement slab and duly identified, as required by the National
Building Code.
The promisor purchaser is hereby informed that, if it becomes necessary, the
building is partly equipped with the additional conduits intended for the
depressurization and evacuation of underground gases, including radon.
These conduits were installed inside the walls, starting in the basement up to
a blowhole located on the roof of the building, or according to any other
approved alternative method (such as a lateral conduit for example).
Furthermore, an electrical outlet has been provided in the basement to feed
an extraction fan.
The promisor purchaser is also informed that it is his responsibility to
proceed periodically with the required testing of the air, in order to control the
presence and concentration of underground gases, including radon, in the
building. If the test results indicate a level higher than the recommended
limits as set by Health Canada, the promisor purchaser will have the
responsibility to complete the depressurization and evacuation systems of
underground gases, by the installation and connection of an extraction fan.
The execution of these tests, along with the installation and connection of an
extraction fan, are specifically excluded from the preliminary contract and
obligations of the contractor.

ANNEX
When the contract does not provide for the installation of an additional
conduit for the extraction of underground gases :

The present annex is an integral part of the preliminary contract between the
designated parties.

The contractor confirms that the required conduits, for the depressurization
and evacuation of underground gases, including radon, have been installed
under the basement slab and duly identified, as required by the National
Building Code.

The promisor purchaser is hereby informed that, if it becomes necessary, the
building is not equipped with the additional conduits intended for the
depressurization and evacuation of underground gases, including radon. If
such a conduit must be installed in the future, important work will be required
due to the fact that such conduit must be installed inside the walls, starting in
the basement up to a blowhole located on the roof of the building.
Consequently the promisor purchaser acknowledges that the installation of
said conduit is not part of the preliminary contract.

The promisor purchaser is also informed that it is his responsibility to
proceed periodically with the required testing of the air, in order to control the
presence and concentration of underground gases, including radon, in the
building.
 The execution of these tests is specifically excluded from the preliminary
contract and obligations of the contractor.
