Gambler Nathan Detroit tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town; meanwhile, his girlfriend, nightclub performer Adelaide, laments their 14-year engagement. Nathan turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson for the dough, but Sky is busy romancing the straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown. Meet the shady denizens of New York’s underworld, as only the CRT company can portray them. ouR toWn by thornton wilDer mary anDraDe / pamphotography.com directed by Michael Perlman / RATED PG Described by Edward Albee as “the greatest American play ever written,” this play (first staged by CRT in our inaugural 1966 season) is not-to-be-missed by anyone who loves this town as much as we do. Welcome to the small town of Grover’s Corners. This ordinary town awakens us to the powerful truth that being alive is a precious, ephemeral gift. Follow two families as their children fall in love, marry, and discover that life’s challenges are the gateway to life’s deepest meaning: to cherish the glory of every-day life. august:osage county by tracy lettS directed by Christy Montour-Larson / RATED R Winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award, this play is the perfect showcase for the greatest powerhouse cast of CRT veterans to date. A vanished father. A pill-popping mother. Three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a tornado of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. This major new play is (thus far) the best play of the 21st century and unflinchingly—and uproariously—exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family. >>> Special 50th SeaSon commiSSion ghost light by nagle jackSon written and directed by Nagle Jackson / RATED PG-13 Special 50th Anniversary Commission This sparkling comedy celebrates the founding of your favorite theatre by reimagining that fateful summer in 1966. Instead of a full compliment of twelve aspiring artists, only one silver-tongued professor and three students make it from Kansas to Creede. This tiny company must band together with locals to breathe life into a dilapidated theater in the most unlikely of places. And if that isn’t enough, they must deal with supernatural intrusions from three famous Creede ghosts who are intent upon setting the story straight. Hold on to your seats, because the ghosts are re-writing history and it’s going to be a wild ride. i love st. lucy by john Diantonio directed by Maurice LaMee / RATED PG CRT’s favorite red head, Caitlin Wise, plays TV’s favorite red head, Lucille Ball, in this high-energy farce. Jazz trumpet-player Rick’s life has gone to hell in a hand-basket: he’s off his meds, every note he plays sounds wrong, and his former fiancé is marrying a neurosurgeon. In a moment of desperation, he sends a prayer to St. Lucy – but wires get crossed and the universe sends him Lucy Ricardo instead. Suddenly, Lucy transforms his life into the chaotic, hilarious 1950s sitcom I Love Lucy. Will Lucy save Rick’s life or destroy it? Will Rick ever play music again? And most importantly, will Lucy ever get to be in that Vegameeta-whatever commercial? Pants on Fire A totally made up musical for kids / RATED G Ever wondered what would happen if you could control a play? Come find out in this hour-long improvised musical created from the ideas of kids in the audience. It’s your adventure. We just live in it. Boomtown Explosive Improv Comedy / RATED PG-13 Back for its 9th summer, CRT’s improv comedy-makers will embrace maturity and perform only the most tasteful, realistic, and appropriate scenes. Just kidding. We’ll be the same twisted weirdos you know and love. 2015 schedule t u e sd ay [ MAY ] 24 31 mo ndays are dark su nd ay w e d n e sd ay 26 27 2 3 9 10 7 14 [ JUNE ] 1:30pm Guys & Dolls local discount 21 mondays are dark 1pm St. Lucy talk* 1:30pm St. Lucy* 16 17 7pm St. Lucy talk* 7:30pm St. Lucy* 1:30pm Guys & Dolls imagination stage day camp 23 7:30pm mining through poetry, stories and song* 24 5:30pm lake city f/crt party @ moseley arts center improv studio & Skeleton puppets day camps 28 30 1:30pm Guys & Dolls 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 5 12 [ JULY ] 1:30pm Guys & Dolls 7:30pm Ghost Light 19 1:30pm Guys & Dolls 8 1:30pm St. Lucy* 7pm Ghost Light talk 7:30pm Ghost Light 14 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 15 1:30pm Guys & Dolls 7:30pm St. Lucy* dessert club 21 7:30pm double feature: crt 50th & big burn documentaries 26 Ghost Light talk 1pm 1:30pm Ghost Light 7:30pmOur Town* local discount Ghost Light talk Ghost Light St. Lucy talk* St. Lucy* 7 11am Pants on Fire* 7:30pm Guys & Dolls dessert club mainstage tour St. Lucy talk* St. Lucy* Guys & Dolls mondays are dark 11am 1pm 1:30pm 7:30pm 1 1pm 1:30pm 7pm 7:30pm 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 22 7:30pm double feature: crt 50th & big burn documentaries 28 7:30pm Guys & Dolls dessert club 29 1:30pm Guys & Dolls 7pm St. Lucy talk* 7:30pm St. Lucy* actors’ lab & song and dance day camps guys and dolls ghost light pants on fire our town i love st. lucy Boomtown august: osage county thu r sday friday satu r d ay 23 5pm 28 29 6:30pm Quiller Poster 30 4pm Meet the Company Block Party 7pm St. Lucy talk* 7:30pm St. Lucy* local discount Unveiling* 7:30pm St. Lucy Opens* 4 Nat’l Small Print Show and John Gary Brown Show Opens 5 7:30pm St. Lucy* 11 6 7:30pm St. Lucy* 12 5:30pm opening night dinner 7:30pm Guys & Dolls OPENS 18 13 11am 1:30pm 7pm 7:30pm mainstage tour Guys & Dolls St. Lucy talk* St. Lucy* 19 1:30pm Pants on Fire OPENS* 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 20 1:30pm Guys & Dolls 7:30pm St. Lucy* imagination stage day camp 25 6pm 7pm 7:30pm 26 50th book party Ghost Light talk Ghost Light opens 11am 1pm 1:30pm 7pm 7:30pm 27 Pants on Fire* Ghost Light talk Ghost Light St. Lucy talk* St. Lucy* improv studio & Skeleton puppets day camps 2 Ghost Light talk 7pm 7:30pm Ghost Light 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 9 dessert club 16 1:30pm the kid show opens* 7pm Ghost Light talk 7:30pm Ghost Light 3 10 1:30pm Pants on Fire* 7pm Ghost Light talk 7:30pm Ghost Light 10:30pm Boomtown* 17 1:30pm the kid show* 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 10:30pmBoomtown* 23 24 7:30pmOur Town opens* 30 1:30pm St. Lucy* 7pm Ghost Light talk 7:30pm Ghost Light 31 1:30pm Pants on Fire* 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 10:30pm Boomtown* actors’ lab & song and dance day camps 4 10am 4th of July Parade 11:30amPants on Fire* 1:30pm Pants on Fire* 6pm St. Lucy* 1:30pm Guys & Dolls 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 10:30pm Boomtown OPENS* dark fireworks 1:30pm 7pm 7:30pm Guys & Dolls St. Lucy talk* St. Lucy* 11am 11 chat back 18 the kid show closes* 1:30pm Guys & Dolls 7pm St. Lucy talk* 7:30pm St. Lucy* 25 11am mainstage tour 1pm Our Town talk* 1:30pm Our Town* 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 10:30pmBoomtown* * denotes all shows and events at the Ruth. “DARK” is theatre speak for closed. >>> 2015 schedule su nd ay t u e s d ay w e d n e sd ay 2 4 1:30pm Guys & Dolls 7:30pmOur Town at 11am Pants on Fire* 7pm Ghost Light talk 7:30pm Ghost Light local discount 1pm Our Town talk* 1:30pm Our Town* 7:30pm Guys & Dolls 9 16 1:30pm St. Lucy* mondays are dark [ AUGUST ] sunnyside chapel 7:30pm Guys & Dolls dessert club 18 23 25 30 1 6 8 13 August: Osage mondays are dark [ SEPTEMBER ] 1:30pm Our Town closes* 7:30pm August: Osage local discount 12:30pmSt. Lucy talk* 1pm St. Lucy* * denotes all shows and events at the Ruth. “DARK” is theatre speak for closed.
