Christmas must be coming if The Trail Band is
coming to The Dalles Civic
Auditorium on December
1st. This year’s special
guest is Andy Stokes.

Winter Flea Markets Support The Civic
What are you doing on
a Sunday afternoon this
winter?
The fall/winter
Flea Markets are scheduled
for Nov. 16, Dec. 14, Jan.
11, and Feb. 8.
Board Member Trish Neal
is heading up the monthly
Flea Markets with the help
of fellow board member,
Sherry Munro, and Program Manager, Debbie
McBain.
The first market was
held in October. It was a
bit of a last minute gathering but proved to be successful nonetheless. November’s market is maxed
out; filling up the Community and Fireside
rooms. Vendors rented the
available 36 spaces in
about two weeks. There’s
even a waiting list.
December’s
may add the Ballroom to
the mix in order to accommodate more vendors since
it will be close to Christmas.
Besides filling a niche for
the winter months, the market brings people to The
Civic and it supports the
operation of the facility.
Tours are also offered to
those interested. It’s a winmarket win for everyone.

Your support of the Civic
Auditorium is much appreciated by members of The
Dalles Civic Auditorium
Historic Preservation Committee. Without our
friends who see the value
of preserving the Civic, our
job would be much more
difficult. We salute you!
the next time you are in the
building. We are excited to
get started and 2015 will be
the year our campaign starts
moving forward with
greater speed.
This past year has been a
busy one for us. (See below.)
2.Your investment shows
foundations and grantors
that we have the support of
the community.
The long awaited restoration of the Civic’s Theatre
is upon us. We’ve received the engineer’s plan
and just need to factor in
the costs to have a completed plan.
If you haven’t seen the architect’s renderings of
what the fully-restored
Theatre will look like,
please check out our website or stop by the Theatre
Your continued support of
The Civic is important to us
for many reasons:
1.Your investment financially supports us.
3.Many of our volunteers
come from our supporters
and those volunteer hours
are used as match for grant
applications. We have
many areas where we need
volunteers.
4.Your investment assures
our TDCAHPC Board of
Directors that we’re not
alone in this.
Over the past several years,
our membership dues were
on a month to month basis.
If you joined in June, your
dues were renewed the following June. The board of
directors determined that
an annual membership running January 1st through
December 31st was more
efficient. We’ve also implemented a new Membership Benefits program that
is geared to the level of
membership.
The new program will roll
out on January 1, 2015. If
your dues were to be renewed in the past few
months, you have a choice
of pro-rating those dues
through the end of the year
and then pay for 2015, or
send in your check for your
membership renewal and
note on the application that
you wish your dues to take
effect January 1, 2015. If
you wish to pay by credit

What Are You Doing in 2015?
We are already planning
events for 2015, so next
year won’t be just about the
restoration of the Theatre.
We will wrap up the Flea
Markets in February. They
have been a big hit!
The Civic and The Fort
Dalles Museum/Anderson
Homestead Foundation will
be co-hosting “History After Hours” on February 10th
for local history people.
In March, musician Scott

at a benefit concert. Scott
