Milwaukee Avenue). Tickets are $20; www.gorillatango.com or 773-598-4549 for tickets and more information. 18 and over only. Mischief, Mayhem, and Mighty Mammaries abound in this striptease send-up of DC, Marvel, and whatever other superhero lore happened to wander in to our crosshairs. Join one of history's greatest SuperVillains (hint: green hair and a mean grin) as (s)he tricks, teases, and toys with a selection of sexy SuperHeroes from across space and time. Will you, the Captive Audience, vote to set the SuperHeroes free, or will Evil win the day? Your answer may surprise even you once you witness your host's entertaining and creative demonstrations of Evil and its many benefits. As with all our shows, tipping is encouraged and amusingly integrated into the performance. Over the past year and a half, Gorilla Tango Burlesque has gone from the debut of the surprise hit “Boobs & Goombas: A Super Mario Burlesque” to a local burlesque/comedy powerhouse with literally thousands of audience members through the door to see unique burlesque parodies of everything from Star Wars (“A Nude Hope: A Star Wars Burlesque”) to Indiana Jones (“Temple of Boobs: An Indiana Jones Burlesque”) to fantasy films and RPGs (“Fellowship of the Boobs: an LOTR, WoW, D&D, RPG Burlesque”)-- and that's just a small selection of what they have available for-- as their slogan states-- "the Discerning Nerd." Gorilla Tango's next release is the eagerly anticipated third project of GTB Artistic Director MsPixy, who also created and directed the Mario and fantasy-themed shows still running weekly at Gorilla Tango Theatre. With SUPERBOOBS: A SUPERHERO BURLESQUE ADVENTURE Gorilla Tango Burlesque makes its first official foray in to the world of superhero films and comics. But don't let the title fool you-- this show isn't just about Truth, Justice, and the American Boobs. "I wanted to cross lines between comic universes," says the show's creator MsPixy, "I wanted to see what happens when Superman meets Iron Man and the two interact. And what better way to bring them together than to unite against a common foe? Besides," she adds confidentially, "I'm not gonna lie-- I really wanted to spend some time writing for a great bad guy." And what better bad guy than Batman's arch-nemesis and his dysfunctional girlfriend-- The Joker and Harley Quinn. "It's that relationship that fascinates me," says MsPixy of her leading villains (who, by the way, kidnap the audience within the first few minutes of the show), "Everything Harley does is about the Joker, and everything the Joker does is about himself-- and the heroes, audience, minions-- all are just toys in the games they play with one another." Fortunately for the audience, in this case the "toys" are a set of diverse, talented, and delightful actresses who get straight to the core of their characters-- and then reveal it to you in a series of delightful striptease scenarios throughout the show. As with all Gorilla Tango Burlesque shows, SUPERBOOBS: A SUPERHERO BURLESQUE ADVENTURE is more than just a set of themed striptease routines. Each production is a fully scripted parody with the burlesque numbers integrated into the plot. Think Broadway musical-- but with striptease instead of musical numbers. Or... it's kind of like Gypsy Rose Lee and Second City had a baby. Or... go see it for yourself, and YOU figure out how to tell your friends about this glorious mish-mash of comedy and debauchery that the good folks of Gorilla Tango Theatre have introduced to the local burlesque scene. So grab a date or a friend, a few bucks for tips, and join the SuperBoobs adventure starting April 14 at 10:30pm at Gorilla Tango Theatre (1919 N. Milwaukee Ave.). If nothing else, they'll give you an experience you'll be talking (and thinking) about for a long time.
