Bring your deckchairs and a picnic
along to Jubilee Park and watch as
funky brass bands and amazing street
theatre companies perform as part
of Spennymoor’s Big BRASS Bash.
After playing Glastonbury and
Bestival, the spectacular Jaipur
Kawa will bring a riot of colour
and sound to Spennymoor whilst
Funky Style Brass are guaranteed
to entertain with their French
showmanship extravagant costumes
and funky musical style. Expect
toe-tapping covers of pop and rock
favourites from Jazz In My Pants
and a performance from one of
County Durham’s most adventurous
bands Spennymoor Town Band.
The Ramblers arrive at Big BRASS
Bash with rucksacks that swing
open into puppet sets, musical
instruments and many other
surprising delights, and Fairplay
Comedy will bring FaceSpace, a
modern take on the old British
tradition of portraits into which
your own face can be inserted,
but with a BRASS twist!
We’ve exciting street theatre with
The PE teachers, who are on a
mission to get BRASS audiences fit
with star jumps, long jumps and a
grand finale of a three-legged egg
and spoon race, and there’s good
time girls Freda and Rita, otherwise
known as The Dinnerladies, who
will serve up a large dollop of foodie
fun and musical culinary capers.
