Spring Fayre Success and
Treasure Hunt Triumph!
Welcome to the MAY 2010 issue
of the TAPAS Newsletter.
What’s been happening?
The highlight of the events
calendar in April was the hugely
successful TAPAS Easter
Extravaganza Spring Fayre, which
took place on Saturday 10 April.
It was held for the first time at Los
Arcos, on the Coin to Cartama
road. The weather was kind and
the open-air covered venue was
very popular with stallholders and
customers. Twenty five different
stalls were in attendance, ranging
from home made food to arts and
crafts, and cosmetics and jewellery
as well as pottery and paintings!
An enormous vote of thanks goes
to TAPAS Member Ann French
and husband Tony for their time
and effort organising such an
outstanding event.. Our thanks
also go to Pete at Heart Fm who
provided music and entertainment
.
The other April event that
took place on Sunday 25
April was the Car Treasure
Hunt, organised by Maggie
Parker and Betty Ross,
Nearly 50 contestants
roamed the highways and byways around Alhaurin
looking for clues.Thanks to
the kind hospitality of Jane
Young, a really pleasant and
relaxing afternoon was
enjoyed after the hunt for
“Treasure” through the Sierra
De Los Nieves. Wonderful
scenery, wonderful weather,
wonderful company and
wonderful fundraising result!
Well done to all involved!
There is a lot also going on
behind the scenes!
Hopefully, those thespians
amongst the readership will
be aware that Lee Lingwood
is just starting rehearsals for
the new comedy play
“Searching for Doctor
Branovic” which will be
staged in July.
If you would like to be
involved, whether onstage,
or helping out backstage,

You DO NOT have to be
experienced! All that’s
needed is enthusiasm and
commitment, and of course,
a sense of humour helps!
A “Murder Mystery” is
scheduled for November, so
this will be another
opportunity to become
involved in a TAPAS
production which are
always enormous fun and

AN UPDATE ABOUT THE NEW TAPAS “HOME”
From Thursday 1st April, 2010, TAPAS will have a new base at ;VENTA INDIANA SUAREZ – TEL 952 411 912
A404 – Alharin El Grande and Alhaurin de La Torre Main Road, between Km 15 and Km 16
The Venta is next to the Campsite, which is clearly signposted from the Main Road.
Directions from Alhaurin El Grande – Proceed on A404 past Lauro Golf entrance. go past Mamma Luchia
about 1Km, over the Arroyo Hondo bridge and just past Km 16 signpost, look for the sign for the Campsite, which
is the next turning on the left – a sharp turn. Proceed down the road towards the campsite – take the left hand fork
in the road and there is the Venta!
Directions from Alhaurin De La Torre – Proceed on A404, past the archway for clay pigeon shoot, watch for
Km 15 sign, then look for campsite sign and take forked turn to your right. Proceed down the road towards the
campsite – take the lefthand fork in the road, and there is the venta!
