Subject description Main topics The fundamental purpose of the subject is to give an insight into the history and culture of Hungary. To reach this aim, the lectures follow the main courses of the Hungarian historical events, and make the students acquainted with the most outstanding figures of Hungarian history. Besides discussing the political and economic events, attention is drawn to the cultural and religious characteristics of the different nations of the Carpathian Basin. These notes can be effectively used while preparing for the tests. The tests are based on the materials of the lectures and the textbook. The mark (1-5) is assessed as an End-Semester Exam (ESE). The evaluation is based on the number of the attendances and on the scores of the tests.
