CCU Hosts Free Seminar: “Basics of Personal Finance”
Public invited to no-cost workshop on effective money management
Waukegan, IL, September 10th, 2013: Creating an effective budget in today’s economy can be challenging. Good
money management includes understanding the best practices for retirement planning, as well as understanding the
options to help craft a spending plan that best suit your needs. With that in mind, Consumer Credit union (CCU;
$604 Million, Waukegan, IL), in cooperation with BALANCE Financial Fitness, is hosting a no-cost educational
workshop, “Basics of Personal Finance.”
This timely, no-cost educational workshop is perfect for those trying to get a better handle on their budget and their
finances. “Basics of Personal Finance” is presented by Buck Austin, a Financial Educator with BALANCE
Financial Fitness. Mr. Austin will outline the steps required for one to fulfill their financial goals and achieve the
retirement of their dreams. Just as importantly, the workshop discusses the various ins and outs of managing your
credit and how to reduce debt.
“Effective money management and responsible retirement planning have never been more important than they are
right now,” said Sean M. Rathjen, CCU President. “It’s critical to equip ourselves with the necessary tools that will
help us reach our individual financial goals. This workshop is a great opportunity for those looking to adapt a life
style conducive to achieving the financial standards they have set for themselves while confidently navigating the
best course to financial security.”
