Lynn Bell is a Paris-based astrologer whose work spans multiple cultures as a speaker, teacher, author and consultant in astrology. She has been a
featured presenter at all the major astrology conferences in the world, and is on the faculty of the Centre for Psychological Astrology in London.
Lynn’s work combines psychological and spiritual perspectives. Her interest in working with familial patterns emerged from work with clients, as well
as her own experience. Her 1998 book on planetary patterns in families, Planetary Threads, will be re-published in 2013. Cycles of Light, her book on
solar returns, was published in 2005. She is also one of the co-authors of the Mars Quartet, and numerous journal and magazine articles. Outside the
world of astrology, she has often collaborated with Caroline Myss, and has been part of the faculty of the New Chartres School in Chartres, France.

CYCLES OF HEALING - Saturday, March 16th, 2013: 10 AM – 8:00 PM
International Astrology Day (IAD) is an annual observance/holiday celebrated by astrologers and astrology enthusiasts. It is held on the spring
equinox, the day the Sun enters Aries, which is the first sign of the Tropical Zodiac, and has long been considered the astrological new year. In
observance of IAD the Association For Astrological Networking (AFAN) co-ordinates astrological lectures and events around the world. A portion
of the proceeds from the IAD - San Francisco event will be donated to AFAN.
OPENING Ceremony Rio Olesky on Didgeridoo - 10:00 AM
THE CELESTIAL PHARMACOPEIA Austin Coppock - 10:15 AM – 11:15 AM
A brief investigation of the astrological materia medica reveals that there is no one planet of healing. In fact, every planet has its own unique medicine
and associated therapeutic techniques. To fiery Mars belongs the intemperate heat of the sauna and the sweat lodge, while Saturn holds the key to
the tremendous benefits of fasting. Used as a medicine, the heat of the sauna purges us of toxins, yet if we stay too long we become headache-y and
dehydrated. Similarly, with the right dosage, Mars can grant us the courage we need, yet too much of the red planet's effulgence can inflame our
temper and destroy our peace of mind. We find that we have a remarkable celestial pharmacopeia at our finger tips, each planet a poison and a cure.
We have but to understand what we have at our disposal to make every planetary cycle a healing one.
ASTROLOGICAL SECRETS OF RENAISSANCE MEDICINE Judith Hill - 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
The Renaissance Physician was a master herbalist and astrologer, heir to traditions evolving from ancient Greece and beyond. The "planetary
energetics" mindset of Renaissance doctors demonstrated the essential use of astrology as a preeminent medical model of the period. Astrology was
used for diagnosis, prescription and treatment and in timing nearly everything in the healing process. Super medicines were created by harvesting
and administering herbs at precise times according to the Moon. Why was so much lost? What wisdom might we rescue and revitalize from this
remarkable indigenous western medicine? This knowledge is both fascinating and highly useful for today's health student.
LUNCH - 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM
YODS AND ANXIETY MANAGEMENT Antero Alli - 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Reclusive author Antero Alli shares his theories on the elusive Yod configuration in this rare lecture on managing anxiety in these uncertain times.
Using the Ascendant as a metaphor for the Ego, coupled with the 6th and 8th House cusps, the Yod will be examined as a mapping mechanism to
expose anxiety-sensitive points in our lives and how their stresses can be alleviated. Once this model is understood, it can be applied immediately to
a more creative interpretation of any Yod configuration in natal and transit horoscopes alike.
THE SIGNATURE OF ALL THINGS: HEALING THE BROKEN VOICE OF THE SOUL THROUGH ASTROLOGY
Christopher Renstrom – 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Science heals through medicine. Religion heals through faith. So how does Astrology heal? Astrology heals through the act of reading; it gives us a
living text - with the planets acting as its movable type - that speaks directly to our soul and to our soul’s experience in this world and in this time.
Astrology helps that soul to inhabit a life that is part material stuff that will eventually fall apart and part spiritual essence that springs from a fixed
eternity. This “theosophical” approach will be explored through the works of astrologers Paracelsus, Wegel, Bohme, Hazelrigg and Rudhyar.
KEYNOTE ADDRESS: THE HEALING POWER OF MUTABLE SIGNS Lynn Bell - 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Mutable signs bring energy from one realm to another; they can weave unlikely things together or split them apart. The connecting and loosening
function of the mutables is not always seen as a strength in astrology, but it is exactly what is needed for healing to occur. We may break through in
cardinal signs, or put down deep roots in fixed, but only the mutable signs bring a loosening of the bonds, a release of structure. They match and
combine, dissolve and dissect. We will look at how to use their gifts for the healing of the psyche, as well as its mirror, the body.
WINE AND CHEESE RECEPTION - 6:45 PM – 8:00 PM
LYNN BELL POST CONFERENCE WORKSHOP: FAMILY PATTERNS OF LIGHT AND SHADOW
Sunday, March 17th, 2013 - Fort Mason Center, Building C, Room C260, 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM, with break for Lunch
We come into this world through a tribe, and the light is often divided unevenly between family members. Some of us carry the dreams of our families,
while others hold the unconscious or rejected values of the tribe, and may be treated as if they are "good for nothing“. Even when far away, there is an
underlying connection to the tribe, one that reveals itself in the shape of events, in mysterious blockages and breaks. Each of us responds to the
family patterning in a unique way. Bring your chart and those of other family members and begin to unravel your archetypal family patterns.
