MOTTA CAMASTRA
The village of Motta Camastra is located upon a rocky ridge of sandstone rocks
perched at 450 meters above sea level and it dominates the views of the Valle
dell’Alcantara.
This territory had been inhabited by Phoenician settlements and by Greco-Roman
and Arabic-Norman denominations.
The layout and the very siting of the build up area in itself already presents
an attractive and charming landscape . Climbing up along the road which leads up
to Motta Camastra, the landscape becomes ever more beatiful and charming, until you
suddenly find yourself in front of the village, immortalised in the past in some shots
of the blockbuster film il Padrino di Francis Ford Coppola.
