A Galerie des solutions
A huge exhibition of low-carbon solutions from a host of countries with
representatives from private and public sectors. This will be a business-to-business
event offering opportunities to present innovative climate solutions to a diversified
audience, including UN delegates, professional visitors, specialists in construction,
production, high-tech, clean tech, transport, urban development and more. The
goal is to allow discussion, exchange of expertise, business opportunities for
contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases, adaptation to the impacts of
climate change and finance for such actions. There will also be a series of
conferences, side events, and ‘trade’ activity spaces.

Climate Summit for Local Leaders – ICLEI / Cities and Local Government Day
The city of Paris and its partners ask the COP 21 future French presidency to
organize a Cities and Local Governments Day during the COP21 at Le Bourget in
December 2015.

Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and Michael Bloomberg, the UN Secretary-General's
Special Envoy for Cities and Climate Change, announced that they will co-chair the
Climate Summit for Local Leaders. 1,000 mayors are expected to attend this
summit.

High Level Meeting on Climate Action (Action Day), Lima-Paris Action
Agenda
Aimed at sharing objectives and achievements of impactful initiatives with
economic and political leaders. There will be ‘Thematic Action Days’ during the COP
to enable stakeholders to present issues at stake and existing solutions’ pathways
for each main action area of the Agenda.

action by companies, cities, subnational regions, and investors to address climate

Globe International Legislator's Summit
The Global Legislators Organization (GLOBE International) is an international
organization comprising national parliamentarians from over 80 countries,
committed to developing and overseeing the implementation of laws in pursuit of
sustainable development. GLOBE Intl chapters will hold parliamentary hearings to
review governments' Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs).

Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU): Parliamentary meeting
The Parliamentary Meeting is expected to adopt a brief outcome document, to be
conveyed to the Climate Change Conference. Senator Hervé Maurey (France) will
prepare a preliminary draft, to be circulated in advance of the 133rd IPU Assembly
and discussed by the IPU Standing Committee on Sustainable Development,
Finance and Trade at its session in Geneva on 19 October 2015. The final draft will
be submitted for adoption at the conclusion of the Paris meeting.
The Meeting is also expected to adopt a forward-looking Parliamentary Action Plan
on Climate Change, the draft of which will be prepared by the IPU Secretariat. The
Plan will be subsequently submitted to the Governing Council of the IPU for formal
endorsement at the time of the IPU statutory session in Lusaka, Zambia, in March
2016.

Sustainable Innovation (SIF15)
Hosted by Climate Action and UNEP, this is the largest business-focused side event
held during the annual Conference of Parties, convening 750+ cross-sector
participants from business, government, investors, UN, NGO and civil society during
COP 21.

This large scale platform for business will create dialogue, enable collaboration, and
showcase game-changing solutions to climate challenges. Featuring expert
speakers, high level plenary sessions, interactive panel debates, workshops, and
cultural components and enhanced networking opportunities. Topics covered
include: carbon pricing and market; urban mobility; opportunities for renewable
energy and low carbon; climate finance; sustainable innovation; and circular
economy.
Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Government officials can
participate at no cost. 500 euro entrance fee for business representatives.
SIF is reaching out to government and businesses to exhibit at or sponsor the
event. There are several ways to present, with costs beginning at 25,000 euro.

Caring for Climate Business Forum
Hosted by the United Nations Global Compact (a framework for companies
committed to responsible business practices), the UNEP, and the UNFCCC
Secretariat, the Forum will provide a venue for business and investors to meet with
governments, civil society and the UN to advance the climate agenda. It will serve
as a multi-stakeholder platform for dialogue and action to demonstrate progress
moving towards the new climate regime.

The first day of the Forum will consist of plenary and thematic sessions on topics of
carbon pricing, science-based target setting, adaptation and finance. Business
participants may request an invitation to attend by sending an email to
[email protected]. Cost ranges between $350-500.
The second day will be a high-level meeting providing an overview of all
commitments and contributions put forward by business and investors towards
COP21. Program to come. Attendance on this day is by invitation only.
