About BASEBALL PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS, LLC Baseball Performance Analysis, LLC (BPA) offers comprehensive, computerized The USA Baseball Medical & Safety Advisory Committee holds the position that baseball is one of the safest sports available for today’s youth. However, it is widely believed that many of the serious injuries suffered by adult baseball pitchers may have begun to develop at the youth level. [1] evaluation of the movement pattern of athletes, specifically baseball pitchers. The evaluation process gauges joint motion and muscle activity to generate an objective account and graphic depiction of the athlete’s upper and lower extremity function. From this evaluation, recommendations are made to improve mechanics that will enhance pitching performance and reduce the risk of injury. Upon visiting BPA, athletes will meet with Billy Reilly, a licensed Physical Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, who will conduct a comprehensive physical evaluation. To maximize findings, the evaluation is aided by state-of-the-art video analysis to identify and correct muscle imbalance, flexibility restrictions, and instabilities that impede baseball mechanics. Using results from the baseballspecific physical evaluation and analysis, Billy will design a custom exercise program to enhance performance and correct physical deficits stemming from muscle imbalances in strength and/or flexibility. Billy is available to share and discuss the information with baseball instructors for a team approach to improving the athlete’s overall game. [1] American Sports Medicine Institute website, http://www.asmi.org/asmiweb/usabaseball.htm About BILLY REILLY Billy Reilly is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and licensed Physical Therapist specializing in the rehabilitation of orthopedic/musculoskeletal conditions, specifically the treatment and prevention of baseball-related injuries. Billy currently serves as Clinic Director at Performance Physical Therapy in New York City. Billy is one of the clinic’s leading therapists, specializing in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine. He possesses a keen understanding of injuries related to the knee, shoulder, foot and spine. Billy is an active member of The American Physical Therapy Association, Sports and Private Practice Sections. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Science and a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. While working toward his degrees, Billy took part in the co-operative/clinical education program. As a student, Billy worked at such renowned health institutions as New England Medical Center (MA), Lahey Clinic (MA) and Somerset Medical Center (NJ). Having gained experience in inpatient long-term care, acute care and outpatient environments, Billy has been exposed to many different care-giving styles and practices. Billy will not provide physical therapy services at BPA. Billy has a true passion for the game of baseball; he spent countless hours playing competitively (as a pitcher and position player) through the collegiate level. Billy continues to play competitive baseball today for the New York City Thunderdogs in the Westchester Rockland Wood Bat League. Billy hails from a long line of avid baseball players, many of whom currently serve or have served as coaches at high schools and colleges in the tri-state area such as Seton Hall University, St. John’s University, Rutgers-Newark, Northern Valley Old Tappan High School, Seton Hall Prep and Morristown-Beard. BPA is where Billy’s passion for and knowledge of baseball intersect perfectly with his ability to enhance a baseball player’s performance and reduce the risk of injury.
