Terramycin ® Terramycin 100 Feed Medication for Livestock and Poultry M.I.B. No. 35 (DIN# 02246807) Terramycin is a feed medication for livestock and poultry containing oxytetracycline hydrochloride. Terramycin effectively prevents and treats a variety of bacterial diseases and pathogens which are susceptible to oxytetracycline hydrochloride. Terramycin’s broad spectrum efficacy will help livestock and poultry to remain healthy in the presence of disease. CLASSIFICATION Terramycin (oxytetracycline hydrochloride) is listed in the Medicating Ingredients Brochure No. 35. Terramycin medicated feed products require a 4 to 7 day withdrawal period prior to slaughter and can be used in meal or pellet diets formulated for all registered species. Stress As an aid in stimulating appetite and maintaining weight gains during periods of stress caused by moving, vaccination, castration or extreme temperature changes. 0.50 Feed as the sole ration during periods of stress and until 10 days after the stress conditions have been eliminated. Leptospirosis As an aid in reducing the incidence of abortion caused by leptospirosis. 2.50 When abortion in swine has been diagnosed as due to leptospirosis, feed at once as the sole ration to pregnant and affected sows for a two-week period. Bloat As an aid in reducing the incidence of bloat in young cattle on pasture or in feedlots. Bacterial Enteritis (scours) As an aid in the prevention of bacterial enteritis. 0.25 Feed continuously during the period of early growth (up to 136 kg of body weight). Stress As an aid in stimulating appetite and maintaining weight gains or egg production, hatchability and feed efficiency during periods of stress caused by moving, debeaking, vaccination or extreme temperature changes. 0.50 Feed as the sole ration. In case of vaccination, feed for 8-10 days immediately following vaccination. For other stress conditions, feed for at least 5 days. History of C.R.D. and/or Non-specific enteritis on premises As an aid in stimulating appetite and maintaining weight gains when chickens are exptected to be exposed to mild attacks of C.R.D. and/or non-specific enteritis 0.25 Feed as the sole ration for as long as the birds are expected to be exposed to the infection. Presence of C.R.D. As an aid in stimulating appetite and maintaining weight gains or egg production, hatchability, eggshell quality and feed efficiency in the presence of C.R.D. 0.50 Feed as the sole ration from the onset of the disease for at least 1 month or until a few days after the symptoms disappear. Presence of C.R.D. and stress As an aid in stimulating appetite and maintaining weight gains or egg production, hatchability, eggshell quality and feed efficiency in the presence of C.R.D. and while under stress caused by moving, debeaking, vaccination or extreme temperature changes. 1.00 Feed as the sole ration from the onset of the disease for at least 1 month or until a few days after the symptoms disappear. Presence of non-specific enteritis As an aid in stimulating appetitte and maintaining weight gains in the presence of non-specific enteritis. 0.50 Feed as the sole ration from the onset of the disease for at least 1 month or until a few days after the symptoms disappear. Infectious sinusitis As an aid in the treatment of infectious sinusitis in turkeys. 0.50 Feed as the sole ration for as long as the birds are expected to be exposed to the infection. Infectious synovitis As an aid in the prevention of infectious synovitis in turkeys. 0.50 Feed as the sole ration for as long as the birds are expected to be exposed to the infection. As an aid in the treatment of infectious synovitis in turkeys. 1.00 Feed as the sole ration when symptoms appear and continue until at least 2 weeks after symptoms disappear. Bacterial enteritis (scours) As an aid in the reduction of bacterial enteritis in creep-fed suckling lambs. 0.50 Feed as the sole creep feed during the suckling period. Enterotoxemia As an aid in the reduction of losses due to enterotoxemia in feedlot lambs. 0.10 Feed as the sole ration while lambs are in the feedlot. Feed continuously. Level of oxytetracycline hydrochloride in the complete feed is to be such that each animal will receive 75 mg per day. 55 g of oxytetracycline hydrochloride (0.25 kg of Terramycin-100) per 1000 kg of complete feed when fed at the rate of 1.36 kg per head per day meets the 75 mg level stated above. Warnings: Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 7 days for swine, chickens and turkeys, 5 days for cattle and calves, and 4 days for lambs after the latest treatment with this drug.
