Nemesis Technology, Inc. Datasheet May 2014 NemFX Reverb2 Digital Reverb Module Features • • • • • • • • • • • Low cost, high performance Digital Reverb Module in a compact package Superior sound quality and character Easy to integrate – just requires input, output, power, & ground Mono input, Stereo output o Stereo outputs may be summed for mono out operation with improved dynamic range Only requires a +5V Power Supply Available in two Reverb Types (Spring or Room) Available in three Reverb Decay Times (Short, Medium, or Long) Available in two form factors (Vertical or Horizontal) AC-coupled inputs and outputs eliminate the need for external coupling capacitors Drop-in compatible upgrade from other reverb bricks currently on the market o If you’re serious about your tone, this is the one to use RoHS Compliant, Pb-Free! Applications • • • • • Electric and Acoustic Guitar Amplifiers, Bass Amplifiers, Keyboard Amplifiers Portable PA Systems Mixing Consoles, Powered Audio Mixers, DJ Mixers Digital Pianos, Electric Pianos, Combo Organs Karaoke Systems Description Nemesis Technology, Inc. is proud to introduce the Reverb2 Version of our popular NemFX Series of Digital Reverb and Multi-Effects Modules. NemFX Reverb2 features an extremely high quality Reverb program available in two delicious flavors –- Spring or Room. You can select one of three Reverb Decay Time options -- Short, Medium, or Long. NemFX Reverb2 is available in either a Vertical-Mount or Horizontal-Mount form factor. Theory of Operation The NemFX Reverb2 Module is a tiny daughter card assembly which can be installed on main boards in products such as guitar amplifiers and portable PA systems. Connection to the NemFX is simple. It has one analog input pin and two analog output pins for easy mono in and stereo out operation. Any resistance on the input connection to the NemFX Module will cause distortion on the input signal. The input analog signal can be up to a maximum of 3.22 Vpp before clipping occurs. Analog input signals must stay within the voltage range listed under ‘Absolute Maximum Ratings’ in the specifications section of the datasheet; otherwise, damage to the NemFX Module can occur. Output Circuit Interfacing to the analog output of the NemFX Module is also very simple. The output circuit on the module must drive a load greater than 2 kΩ. For applications that use only a single channel, the two Outputs can be summed to improve the dynamic range performance. Or is saving cost is critical, connect only to one Output (either is fine). Additional filtering of signals above 50 kHz may be necessary on systems that are sensitive to high frequency noise. 09-1NE0-05MA-DS 140520 [email protected] www.my-nemesis.com Nemesis Technology, Inc. Datasheet May 2014 Power Supply The NemFX Module requires a regulated +5V power supply to achieve rated performance. >7 V, 145mA + In 100 uF 5V, 145mA +5V Regulator Out GND 0.1 uF + 10 uF Figure 3: Example 5V Supply Circuit Changing Reverb Type and Reverb Decay Time When your NemFX Reverb2 Module ships from our factory, it is configured to the Reverb Type and Reverb Decay Time that you specified when placing your order. The Module does however provide a means for changing the Reverb Type and Reverb Decay Time. On the right side of the Module are three locations for soldering 0 ohm 0603 surface mount chip resistors. The first location is labeled SPRING. To select Spring, install a 0 ohm resistor. To select Room, leave this location un-populated. The next two locations are labeled S and L. To select Short Decay Time, install a 0 ohm resistor in the S location only. To select Long Decay Time, install a 0 ohm resistor in the L location only. To select Medium Decay Time, leave both the S and the L location un-populated. Ordering Options NemFXReverb2-Type-Decay-Mount Type Room Spring Decay S – Short M – Medium L - Long Mount H – Horizontal V - Vertical For example, to order a Vertical Mounted Medium Spring, the Part Number would be NemFXReverb2-Spring-M-V. Or to order a Horizontal Mounted Long Room, the Part Number would be NemFXReverb2-Room-L-H.
