We currently have an opportunity to join our team as a Livestock Hand. Beef City Feedlot is located
35 km west of Toowoomba in the heart of the grain growing region of the Darling Downs, QLD.
Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
• Contributing to the daily monitoring of animal health, performance and water troughs,
including cleaning
• Determine pens/moves/treats to be done
• Check pens for receival of cattle
• Record keeping of cattle movements
• Diagnosing and treating cattle in accordance with JBS Australia requirements
• Assisting as required with drafting/weighing of store cattle in accordance with JBS Australia
specifications
• Inventory management, as required, including auditing and stocktaking
• General feedlot duties & follow instructions from the livestock supervisor/delegate for any
livestock activity including cattle wash
Criteria for selection will include (but is not limited to):
• Previous cattle handling and/or feedlot experience
• Minimum of 3 suitable horses and tack
• Ability to work an allocated roster (8 days on / 6 days off – required to work every second
weekend)
• Ability to operate computer systems
• Effective organisation and communication skills
It is a requirement for all horses on JBS sites to be Hendra vaccinated.
