Mitigation Solutions USA (MSUSA) Expands Presence
with Aransas Lago, A New Project Along the Texas Coast
HOUSTON - June 21, 2016: MSUSA, an innovator in providing environmental offsets nationwide, released
more details about Aransas Lago, a new project in San Patricio County, adjacent to Aransas Bay. Aransas
Lago is a wetland mitigation site providing offsets for impacts to local habitat such as estuarine, freshwater
marsh and emergent wetlands.
Experts estimate that the construction boom along the gulf coast is expected to generate approximately
$100 billion in projects by 2018 to accommodate increased transportation and storage demands from the
petrochemical industry, as well as the expansion of the Panama Canal.
“We are very excited about the growth along the Texas coast and will continue to execute our
long-term strategies with the goal of becoming a premier supplier of environmental offsets
nationwide,” said Terry McKenzie, President, Founder and Owner of MSUSA.
Gulf Coast towns such as Beaumont, Galveston and Brownsville have been bracing for the impact for quite
some time. In response to this trend, MSUSA added a satellite office in Corpus Christi to increase awareness
of their experience in providing coastal mitigation solutions. The firm has three successful PRM projects in
the area: Gum Island in Port Arthur, South Padre Island in South Padre Island and Ridge Slough in Freeport.
“As we developed our existing PRM sites, we anticipated greater market demand. With the
addition of Aransas Lago, we now have the ability to supply a variety of custom mitigation solutions
for growth in the Corpus Christi region,” said Troy Madrigal, Vice President and Owner of MSUSA.
Aransas Lago will be developed to service Nueces, San Patricio, Aransas, Refugio, Bee, Goliad, and Karnes
counties. It is home to various habitat including coastal prairie, high marsh, brackish and scrub-shrub
wetlands. MSUSA will enhance the site to restore the area’s ecological balance.
