It is our pleasure to announce that the 7th International
Conference on Magnetic Refrigeration at Room
Temperature, Thermag VII, will be held in Torino, Italy,
from 11 to 14 September 2016. The conference is
organized by the Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca
Metrologica and by the International Institute of
Refrigeration IIF/IIR.
In recent years, magnetic refrigeration around room
temperature, is receiving renewed interest thanks to the
development of new materials with enhanced
magnetocaloric effect and of novel thermal engineering
techniques.
Its
potential
high
efficiency
and
environmental compatibility make this technique
competitive with conventional gas compression
technologies. The International Conference on Magnetic
Refrigeration at Room Temperature, born in 2005,
represents the state of the art in the field of new
magnetocaloric materials and novel cooling techniques.

Conference Topics
Conference topics will be devoted to both materials and
cooling systems.
- Materials: alloys and compounds with magnetocaloric
effect, physics of the magnetocaloric effect, shaping and
preparation of active materials
- Cooling systems: design and numerical aspects,
experimental tests of machines
- Novel aspects and future perspectives: ferrocaloric
materials, thermal switches, etc

Publications
Conference proceedings will be published as a book of
IIF/IIR and will be available at the conference in digital
form. Conference papers will be peer reviewed. A
selection of the presented papers will be invited to form a
special issue of the International Journal of Refrigeration
(Elsevier).

- December 2015: opening of the abstract submission
- February 2016: deadline for abstract submission
- May 2016: deadline for paper submission
