The time it takes a piercing to heal can be prolonged by oral contact or sexual contact with or without
a protective barrier. In the event of oral or sexual contact a protective barrier such as; a condom or a
dental dam is suggested. Even while in a monogamous relationship protection is still requiered.
Bacteria is still a concern along with other sexually transmitted diseases.
Cleaning Agent:
A liquid anti-bacterial soap without perfumes such as; Dial or SoftSoap
Cleaning procedure is the same as MOST BELOW THE NECK piercings. Healing can be facilitated by sea
salt baths twice per week. Bathtub must be cleaned by using an antibacterial soap before each bath to
reduce risk of infection caused by bacteria. Add one half cup of sea salt (NOT Epsom salt or table salt)
to warm/hot bath water. Make sure to rinse piercing thoroughly after salt bath using clean running
water. DO NOT allow salt water to dry the piercing.
