DESCRIPTION This opportunity is in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Bazzaro's research aims to develop targeted therapies for treatment of ovarian and HPV-­‐associated cervical cancer, to develop and characterize new biomarkers for early-­‐detection and progression of ovarian cancer, and to understand the role of angiogenesis in ovarian cancer progression. QUALIFICATIONS Essential: Applicant has completed General Chemistry I and II, Cell Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology and Genetics Laboratory. Preferred: Applicant has also completed Organic Chemistry I and II. HOUSING Housing at the University of Minnesota is not included, however, students interested in a Macalester dorm room should contact Joan Toohey at [email protected]. SPECIFIC CONSIDERATIONS/REQUIREMENTS 1. Specific start and end dates are negotiable with Dr Bazzaro, but typically run from June 1 through mid-­‐August for 10 weeks minimum, and as many as 12 weeks. 2. This position is open to all students (US or international). 3. This is a temporary (10-­‐12 weeks), full-­‐time paid position. The hourly wages will depend on the experience and qualifications ($8-­‐12/hour).
