This drug is a hormone therapy and works to stop
cancer cells from growing
What this drug is used for:
Breast, endometrial, and prostate cancer or _______

How this drug is given:
Common side effects (occur in less than 3 out
of 10 people):
• High blood pressure
• Headache
• Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep (insomnia)
• Mood changes, feeling sad
• Loose, watery stools (diarrhea)
This drug is given in a pill. The amount of medicine
that you receive depends on many things. Your
doctor will find the best dose for you.
• Feel sick to your stomach (nausea)
Make sure your health care team knows about all the
medicines and supplements you take. This will help
prevent drug interactions.
• Low white cells in blood (infection or fever)
Side effects
Most people do not have all the side effects listed.
Side effects will usually go away after the treatment is
complete. Some of the rare side effects are not listed
here, so tell your doctor if you have any unusual
symptoms.

Call your doctor within 24 hours if you:
• Feel so sick to your stomach that you can’t eat or
drink and medicine doesn’t help
• Have loose, watery stools more than 4 times in
24 hours
• Feel so tired that you can’t care for yourself
• Vomit more than 4 to 5 times in 24 hours
• Have black or tarry stools or blood in your stool
or urine
• Have unusual bruising or bleeding
• Have shortness of breath
