Physician Scientist - Medical Geneticist
Salveson Stetson Group is a multi-specialty, retained executive firm. Our client, one of the
world’s fastest growing pharmaceutical companies, is seeking a Physician Scientist with
expertise in Medical Genetics. The Clinician will be a medical geneticist with expertise in the
clinical diagnosis and management of a spectrum of genetic diseases particularly those which
manifest in childhood. The ideal candidate will have research experience in the field of
genetics, and a passion to lead the development of new therapies for genetic disease. The
position will be based in Boston, MA or Basel, Switzerland.

Medical doctorate degree (MD or nationality equivalent) is required.
MD/PhD or equivalent is preferred.
Fluent in English (oral and written).
Completion of an academic medical fellowship in medical genetics is desired and some
experience in pediatrics would be helpful.
Must have a broad knowledge of clinical medicine.
Hands-on basic science experience in medical genetics with a track record of quality
publications.
Research experience may include genetic analysis of syndromes to define new disease
entities or population-based genetic analysis or experience reviewing genetics analysis
for drug efficacy or safety.
Must possess one of the following: at least five years of clinical experience with relevant
patient groups at an academic medical center; three to five years of experience in a
pharmaceutical company or clinical research organization; or related clinical trial
experience within a clinical pharmacology-related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to create significant innovations.
Highly collaborative personal style, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to
network with and influence opinion leaders.
Solid communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and logical presentations of
complex strategic issues.
