Georgia Country

 Over the centuries, Georgia was the object of rivalry between Persia,
Turkey and Russia, before being eventually annexed by Russia in the
19th century.
 Georgia's brief interlude of independence after the 1917 Bolshevik
revolution in Russia ended when it was invaded by the Soviet Red
Army in 1921 and incorporated into the Soviet Union a year later.

The flag of Georgia

 The flag of Georgia ), also known as the Five Cross Flag was
adopted in January 2004, and was originally the flag of the
United National Movement. It was widely used during the
"Rose Revolution" of 2003.
 The Georgian national flag is a white rectangle, with in its
central portion a large red cross touching all four sides of
the flag. In the four corners there are four bolnur-katskhuri
crosses of the same color (as the large cross).

mining of manganese, copper, and gold; and producing alcoholic
and nonalcoholic beverages, metals, machinery, and chemicals in
small-scale industries.

Tourism in Georgia

 Tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors of the Georgian
economy, which has high potential for further development. During
recent years the number of visitors to Georgia increased significantly
contributing to the growth of other tourism related sectors.
 To foster the development of the tourism sector the Government of
Georgia invests heavily in the development of the transportation and
basic infrastructure, renovation and development of tourism
destinations, which is a stimulus for the private investment
generation.
