It is used for installation and maintenance work on de-energized cables. The FC2000 also increases worker security by using a reliable cable and phase Identification technique and by its simplicity of operation. Operation FC2000D Detector basic • Microprocessor-controlled functions • Use of a high-performance filter to • A transmitter (FC2000E), into which eliminate random noise from the system Instantly located conductors using reception clips or special probes Reception controlled by an automatic gain system Acoustic message reception for identification Digital tone identification system for detecting phases Reception autonomy of eight hours Weight: 9.3 kg The FC2000 components: includes two are integrated a speaker and microphone for recording the identification message, as well as three message-inducer probes, i.e. one for each phase. •A detector (FC2000D), which includes a speaker and four different types of probes for capturing the identification message on different types of cables. The FC2000’s design is entirely digital for maximum and accurate performance. When the recorded acoustic message is captured, the conductor is unmistakably located. In addition, the device is grounded at both ends of the cable to ensure maximum protection for the users. The FC2000 is compatible with all types of cables and can be installed on an overhead or underground system. It does not require any access to the conductor as it uses magnetic fields to generate the current-induced messages in the cables. • Major Advantages of the FC2000 • FC2000C Transmitter • • Current-induced recorded message • • • • • • (using magnetic couplers) Different identification tones transmitted on all three phases Unique balanced induction system prevents any signal return on nearby cables Eight-hour autonomy, and possible power supply from the main line Recorded message from 1 to 16 seconds Continuous message transmission until power-off Weight: 9.7 kg • • • The signal is received by an acoustic detection system which uses state-ofthe-art digital technology. The FC2000D includes a digital signal processor (DSP) to identify phases by detecting a tone in the noise. Cables can be identified in extreme noise conditions as the unit also includes a 2 kHz digital filter.
