Fast rise times on each half-wave (determined by the firing phase-angle) are minimised by using voltagefollowing control. In this way an almost true current sine waveform is produced at the load. The external loadtransformer is wound in a manner that enables it to produce a base voltage level from one winding. A second winding is used adjust the overall voltage range. The relationship between the two voltage levels is controlled automatically and is not dependant on the set-point level. The controller is provided with a MCB, a separate voltage supply and integral fuses.
