State of Florida Department of Correction – Florida State Prison
Master Lift Station Replacement
Raiford, Florida
The electrical distribution system at the Florida State Prison Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants
(W/WWTP), located at 7819 Northwest 228th street, Raiford, FL, originates from an incoming
service owned and maintained by local power company through substations adjacent to the
W/WWTP and the correctional facility. The incoming voltage is 13 kV and it is stepped down to a
utilization voltage of 480 Volts, 3-phase, 3-wire. The utility transformer is located at the entrance to
the W/WWTP entrance along NW 77th Avenue. A second step down transformer is located to the
south of the existing master pump station. This transformer serves the Blowers located to the west
of the digesters.
The proposed master pump station will replace the
existing pump station and as such the wall mounted
gutter, combination starters, transformer and panels will
be disconnected and removed. The space will be
returned to the facility for use as storage. The new
station will be located to the south of the existing station.
It is our intent to utilize the existing feeder originating at
the WWTP MCC which extends through a series of
manholes. The feeder will be spliced in the manhole
and extend to the proposed electrical system.
