TIP
CAUTION
• The screws must be tightened with right torque to
assure the perfect electrical contact on terminal B+, D-,
W, V and L. The points of electrical connection must be free
of dirt and corrosion to assure the perfect operation of the
regulator.
• The regulator GA905 is very similar to GA920, but
the internal circuit and the operation are totally different,
which does not allow the replaces of one to another.
GA905 has two terminals (V and W) for stator phase.
GA920 in the same position there is a single terminal to
connect the diodes from rectifier.
• Never use the “lamp test” on regulator’s terminals.
Any test must be made with the polarity pen (AX002) or
with a multimeter. The “lamp test” can damage the voltage
regulator and also other equipments on the electrical
system of the vehicle;
• Always polarize the alternator using the polarity pen
(AX002). Connect a positive (+) on terminal “L” will
damage the internal circuit of the regulator;
• Do not sand the terminals! This will remove the
surface treatment and the terminal will corrode, inducing
electrical contact problems.
