GOLD TIP® PLATING SYSTEM
CONTAINS
- Plating pen
- Power unit with 9 volt battery
- 6cc Gold-Tip® Plating Liquid containing Potassium cyanide.
APPLICATION
The Gold-Tip® Plating is ideal for rapid gold plating of all kinds of metal objects. Thickness of
the gold layer is controllable and the resulting gold surface is wear resistant. Most metals and
alloys can be plated, however the plating result should be determined by experience.
ADVANTAGES
- Electrolytic plating (24 K/99.9% Au) of most metal surfaces in a very short period of time.
- Can be used anywhere because of its compact and handy size.
- No more spilling of large, expensive quantities of gold or hardening liquids.
- Due to the ingenious construction of the Gold-Tip®, corrosion will not appear on its
components.
- A electrolytic bonding is formed between the gold layer and the metal surface.
- The gold layer will not peel off, nor will it cause any bubbles.
WARNING
• Gold-Tip® plating liquid is very poisonous if in contact with the skin or if swallowed.
• Gold-Tip® plating liquid creates very poisonous gasses if brought into contact with acids.
• After contact with the skin wash immediately with water.
• In case of an accident or if someone is feeling unwell consult a doctor immediately and show
this information leaflet and the product data safety sheet.
Before
use read product data safety sheet, available at Dyna Dental Engineering bv.

INSTALLATION
Place a 9V battery, for example a Philips 6LR61 G green alkaline, in the battery container at the
bottom of the power unit. Connect the Gold-Tip® pen to the power unit using the jackplug.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Use protecting gloves and apply the Gold-Tip® liquid only in a well ventilated area.
1. Clean and degrease the surface to be plated.
2. Remove the clip of the pen and dip the felt-tip in the plating liquid. Make sure the felt-tip is
completely soaked. This can be realised by dipping the Gold-Tip® pen in the liquid several
times, each time followed by turning it up side down.
3. Attach the alligator clip to the object to be plated and switch on the power unit.
4. Distribute the liquid slowly and evenly over the surface. The appearance of small bubbles
indicates correct functioning of the Gold-Tip®.
5. By slightly rubbing the felt-tip constantly over the surface; the gold-sediment will become
visible within seconds. To coat larger surfaces it will be necessary to dip the felt-point
several times into the liquid. Don't push the felt-tip with force upon the metal, but slide it
gently over the surface.

Rinse with lukewarm, running water and if necessary polish with a soft cloth.
After use rinse the felt-tip in water, to prevent crystallisation of the liquid.
WASH HANDS after each use!
If the Gold-Tip® is used again, remove water from the felt-tip with a tissue.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the gold plating procedure does not lead to the desired result (no gold layer appears or surface
turns black) please check if:
- a proper battery is installed;
- the voltage of the battery is still sufficient;
- the power unit is plugged in properly;
- the power unit has been switched on (control light);
- the plating liquid is not crystallised;
- the object to be plated is made out of an alloy which cannot be plated with the Gold-Tip®, for
instance titanium, aluminium or a plastic coated alloy.
If after checking all possible causes your Gold-Tip® still does not function well, please contact
your local dealer or Dyna Dental Engineering BV. The Gold-tip® is warranted for 1 year, unless
it has not been used according to these instructions.
STORAGE OF GOLD-TIP® PLATING LIQUID
Keep locked and out of reach of children in a separate, fireproof, dry and cool room. If the liquid
is kept in the original bottle with the lid closed airtight it has a shelf life of 1 year.
REMARKS
- A shiny surface will give a shiny plating result, a dull surface will give a dull plating.
- The Gold-Tip® operates optimally at normal room temperature.
- The longer the plating process, the thicker the gold layer.
- Use only the original Gold-Tip® plating liquid! Other liquids may cause very dangerous
reactions and live threatening situations.
- The felt tip can be easily replaced.
- A safety data sheet of the plating liquid is available from your Dyna distributor on request.
