© Siemens AG 2008 DELTA Switches and Socket Outlets DELTA reflex Motion Detectors, IP55 Unpack, connect, done no further work required A key feature of the DELTA reflex motion detector IP55 is the precision with which its values can be preset compared to standard motion detectors, which are set over potentiometers. So there is no need to go back and adjust the devices. Convenient mounting: quick and easy wiring in the terminal box. And then simply plug in the motion detector. Commissioning of the motion detector is automatic. The DELTA reflex motion detector IP55 is available for two different sensing ranges: 120° and 290°. The 290° version is also available with remote control. A key feature of the new DELTA reflex motion detector IP55 is its particularly attractive design. DELTA www.siemens.com/delta Benefits • Instant commissioning • Preset standard mode with 2 min delay time and 7 lux brightness value • Precise adjustment of values for twilight and delay time, so no need to keep going back to a site to readjust the device • Convenient mounting – the motion detector simply plugs into the terminal box • Automatic test mode after initial application of voltage • Change preset brightness values and delay times with a simple touch of the button • Flexible use: suitable for wall, ceiling or corner installation • Attractive price-performance ratio • Attractive design • Available in titanium white and anthracite • Additional functions over remote control with the 290° IR version © Siemens AG 2008 Motion Detectors DELTA reflex motion detectors, IP55 Overview Installation steps 1. Installation and wiring of terminal box In the first step, the terminal box is mounted. Wiring the device couldn't be easier. 2. Plug in the motion detector In the second step, the motion detector is simply plugged into the terminal box. The four connecting pins establish the connection between the motion detector and connecting cables. 3. Fixing the motion detector In the third step, the motion detector is screwed to the terminal box. This ensures degree of protection IP55. Screw-fixing the motion detector helps prevent unauthorized removal or theft. One, two, three ... and done Three installation steps - that's all it takes and the motion detector is mounted and ready for use. Commissioning the motion detector The DELTA reflex motion detector is immediately ready for use: • As soon as the power is connected and the initialization phase has run for approx. 30 s, test mode starts automatically. • After 10 min. the detector automatically switches to standard mode with preset 2 min. delay time and a twilight value of 7 lux. • It is also possible to interrupt the test mode and switch directly to standard mode. To do this, simply press one of the two pushbuttons on the motion detector or the green button on the remote control (only for 290° IR). Done!!! 2 Motion Detectors © Siemens AG 2008 Simple changing of motion detector values The values of the motion detector can be changed quickly and easily using the two pushbuttons located behind the lens. Operation of detector: • Briefly press left pushbutton S1: Stores a user-definable brightness value • Briefly press right pushbutton S2: Stores a user-definable delay time between 5 s and 30 min • Left pushbutton S1 > 2 s: Switches between brightness-dependent mode (normal mode) and brightness-independent mode (day mode) • Right pushbutton S2 > 2 s: Switches between normal mode with delay time and pulse mode • Both pushbuttons > 3 s: Activates test mode The motion detector can be installed in three different ways Wall mounting Ceiling mounting Inner corner and outer corner mounting Setting and reducing the sensing range The sensing range can be changed by turning the lens ±30° to the left or right. The sensing range can be changed by adjusting the swivel arm. The motion detector is fitted with a cover plate that can be used to limit the sensing range. To do this, the cover plate needs to be cut out according to your requirements. Cutouts for setting the sensing range The sensing range can be limited by cutting out the cover plate to suit your requirements Motion Detectors 3 © Siemens AG 2008 Remote control for 290° IR motion detector The 290° IR motion detector supports remote control. The remote control is included in delivery with the 290° IR motion detector and offers the functions listed in the table. Direct selection pushbuttons Vacation function / Absent The vacation function is a permanently stored ON/OFF profile and simulates presence. The ON/OFF profile is activated for approx. 4 hrs. as soon as it is dusk. Light 4 hrs. ON Switches the motion detection off and the light is switched continuously ON for 4 hrs. Continuous OFF The light is permanently OFF, the motion detection is disabled. Test pushbutton Enables test mode for 10 min (brightness-independent, 1 s ON and 2 s OFF). Exit the direct selection function Standard mode Actuating this pushbutton exits the functions of the blue pushbuttons and reactivates the previously set operating mode. Function only in conjunction with the PROG pushbutton Save brightness/twilight value With this function, the stored brightness value is overwritten by the value currently being measured by the sensor. Brightness-independent day mode The motion detector is enabled during the day - independent of the actual brightness. Setting the delay time (starting and Using this function, you can program an individual delay time between 5 s and max. 30 min. stopping the attendance recording) 4 Motion Detectors 10 min. delay time This function can be selected when the motion detector is in the "individual setting" (standard mode) or in brightness-independent day mode. Pulse mode Pulse mode 1 s ON / 9 s OFF. Application options, e.g. for stairwell time switch, door bells. Programming pushbutton It is necessary to activate the programming pushbutton before programming the functions of the yellow pushbuttons. Reset pushbutton The Reset pushbutton can be actuated in any operating mode (even continuous OFF) and returns the motion detector to its factory settings (7 lux / 2 min delay time). © Siemens AG 2008 Technical specifications DELTA reflex motion detector 120° 290° 290° IR • Titanium white (similar to RAL 9010) 5TC7 210 5TC7 212 5TC7 214 • Anthracite 5TC7 211 5TC7 213 5TC7 215 • Remote controllable, incl. remote control -- -- 4 • Degree of protection IP55 IP55 IP55 • Sensing range 120° 290° 290° • Connected load 1000 W 5 AX 2500 W 10 AX 2500 W 10 AX • Screw terminals for solid conductors 1 ... 4 mm², max. 2 x 2.5 mm² stranded conductors (only with end sleeves) 1 ... 2.5 mm², max. 1 x 2.5 mm² 4 4 4 • Sensing range at 22 °C 10 m 16 m 16 m • Mounting height 2 ... 4 m 2 ... 4 m 2 ... 4 m • Wall or ceiling mounting 4 4 4 • Surface mounting design: wiring of the detector is quick and easy, it is then sim- 4 ply plugged in 4 4 • Mounting with special base 4 4 4 • Incandescent lamps 1000 W 2500 W 2500 W • HV halogen lamps 1000 W 2500 W 2500 W • Fluorescent lamps 8 x 58 W 20 x 58 W 20 x 58 W • Energy-saving lamps max. 4 units max. 8 units max. 8 units • Rear view monitoring -- 4 4 • Control via NC pushbutton Only light ON possible here (delay time) 4 4 • Pulse mode (1 s ON, 9 s OFF) 4 4 4 • Artificial light suppression (glare shield 60 s) 4 4 4 • Maloperation suppression 4 4 4 • Range stabilization 4 4 • Presence simulation/vacation function after dusk; 4 hr permanently programmed -ON/OFF profile in 24-h rhythm -- 4 • Remote-controllable -- -- 4 • Generous wiring space 4 4 4 • Numerous cable entries 4 4 4 • Convenient mounting – the motion detector simply plugs into the mounting base 4 4 4 • Convenient setting of the detector over 2-pushbutton control 4 4 4 • Automatic startup settings on initial application of voltage 4 4 4 • Easy two-pushbutton operation: 4 4 4 Order Nos.
