Construction
Nightlighter wire-in photocontrols are manufactured
from durable, high quality materials to guarantee
reliable performance. The housing is molded from
UV-resistant polycarbonate material which offers
excellent mechanical strength and high impact
resistance.

Wire-In Photocontrol
Operating Features
Series FA 105/305 (120V nominal rating) and FA1068
(208-277V nominal rating) photocontrols utilize rugged, heavy-duty components to assure trouble-free
operation. The SPST (single-pole single throw)
bi-metallic switch delivers extended service life, and
provides time delay characteristics to prevent false
turn-off due to temporary ambient light conditions
(such as lightning or automobile headlights).
During daylight hours, the normally closed bi-metallic
switch is held in the open position, leaving the lamp
load OFF. When daylight falls below the preset
operating levels, the switch closes, turning the lamp
load ON. In the unlikely event of photocontrol failure,
the lamp load is switched on, allowing easy detection
and ensuring a safe, lighted area.
The Fisher Pierce Nitelighter® Series FA wire-in, flushmounted photoelectric controls feature a Litepipe™
lens which provides a wider light acceptance angle,
enhancing performance and reliability during seasonal
light changes.
The FA wire-in photoelectric controls are specifically
designed for use in utility, commercial/industrial or
residential lighting fixtures such as floodlights, patio
lamps, and decorative luminaires. Its small size and
excellent performance characteristics allow the
FA control to be used in virtually any through-hole
photocontrol mounting requirement. Nitelighter® Series
FA photocontrols are UL listed and CSA approved.

wire-in photocontrol represents this same high standard

An exclusive 1 in. surface-passivated cadmium
sulfide photocell — designed and manufactured
in-house to assure the highest possible quality and
performance — is used in both the 120V and the
208/277V Nitelighter® controls. This high-grade
photocell ensures stable turn-on and turn-off
characteristics over the lifetime of the control, and
offers significantly higher surge-withstand capability
and longer life than the smaller, light-duty cells used
on all other wire-in photocontrol designs.
